Quick Take: My daughter got these for her nail salon to swatch all of her nail polishes, and she absolutely loves them. Being able to hold the swatches up to an actual nail makes it much easier to see what a color will really look like, and her clients have loved having that option. This has been a really nice upgrade for my daughter's nail salon. She had a fun time painting all of the swatches, and now her clients can actually hold different colors against their nails to get a much better idea of how they'll look. One thing to know when comparing these with some of the other swatch sets on Amazon: these don't include labels for the colors. That's not a huge deal, but you'll need to write the color information on them yourself if you want them labeled. I’ll start with the cons, so they were somewhat scratched from transit I assume and the plastic gets minor scratches easily. Also for some reason the tip of the nail is hard to paint. Some of my two coat polishes ended up being 3 cause the tip is smooth and has that slope so the polish can slide around on the tapered section. However I do think that if you take an extra second to buff or wipe with acetone it wouldn’t be an issue. I also don’t mind the scratches, it’s kinda expected especially with use and the way I would store it, also an easy fix with top coat I just don’t want to waste product. As for the pros, The value is actually amazing! Comes with a few rings so I’m thinking about different polish categories. I live the shape cause you can kinda see what the color would look like in both almond and square. Super helpful cause sometimes it makes a difference for me. I also love the length of the plastic makes for easy storage and labeling. These are perfect for swatching and planning out a nail set. You could also use them for practice with French or other nail art. I love the practically of the individual swatches as opposed to the book type of swatches or boards. These are perfect for me. I will be usuing them for personal use but I think they’d be great for a nail tech or salons with just a top coat added. The rings are good quality and close well. The plastic is also very nice! I like that it doesn’t feel cheap and at the same time it isn’t too sturdy it’s got a slight flexibility that comes in handy. If I need more I will repurchase from this listing for sure! Permanent marker goes on great on this plastic and I’ve tried different labels and tapes and I haven’t had a problem with them not sticking on this surface. Lastly I don’t even think the sliding around of the polish I mentioned is necessarily bad, it could be my polishes since it didn’t happen with every color. but it also looks kinda cool like a gradient so it helps me see what the color would look like sheered out and full opacity in one swatch. Honestly the pros could go on forever! These are a great deal and the seller also is solid, they packaged them nicely in to three bags of 50 very neatly.

This is so useful!!! You can paint as many of these as you want and you don’t have to write on them. You also don’t have to put them on the rings. You can do basically anything with these i will definitely buy again!!

They're plastic sample thingies - not much to say. But they're good - do what they're supposed to. The metal rings to put them on is solid. If there's anything to say here, it's just my opinion about how/why to use them... I do my own nails at home, so I have quite a collection of polishes. I've used my sample sticks to sample my own polishes, and just for my own benefit, so I can see how the color l looks actually applied - since the polish can often look very different in the bottle/ on the brush. So these sample sticks give me a much better idea of how the polish will actually look. ALSO... it really helps with organizing my polishes. (First - it should be obvious - be sure to label each sample with the name/number of the polish.) By doing so, I can group the sample sticks in whatever way makes the most sense to me -- by color, cat eye effect, jelly polish, etc. That then allows me to keep the polish bottles themselves in a more structured order - i.e. ascending numbers (most of my polishes are just numbers, not cute names). For example, let's say I want a pink polish. I go to my sample sticks where all my pink sample sticks are grouped together, easier to compare, and I can more easily pick the exact shade I want. Because I have some pink shades from Brand A, some from Brand B, and some from Brand C, the polish bottles themselves are not all together. But once I pick out the shade I want from the sample sticks, I can go right to the correct bottle. Ultimately, this type of process / organization allows me to keep the bottles in the packaging they come in (or to repackage in a more efficient way) but still be able to effectively compare similar shades across brands. Not to mention, just more quickly and more easily see everything I have, all in one concise way.

I love the shape! But have to say, 17 nails arrived either split down the middle or the edges broken off & I only received 142 of 150. So I’m out 25 total, but other than the missing & broken pieces, I like them!

This was my 3rd time ordering this item, from this seller (150 swatch sticks doesn't go as far as I expect it to!) The price is reasonable enough that I don't mind using them as "throwaways" to practice techniques and nail art. The swatches are small enough that they fit in my polish container and don't use a lot of polish. Larger might be handy occasionally for the nail art. I am not a professional nail tech, just a diy-er that loves doing my own nails.

i've used these for over 100 swatches for all kinds of polish — gel, glitter, magnetic — often using 3-4, sometimes 5 layers of polish. no complaints whatsoever. i label them with sharpies, no fading or scratching so far.

Exactly what I was looking for.

It's fine but just its material is hard plastic, not soft plastic like the yellow one so it's difficult to be shape & unable to be cut.
