Great Guide Book
I bought this book for a friend who wants to learn Tarot. I've got a copy from 15 years ago and appreciate how it teaches you about the meanings.

Good and a lot of work
Let me start by saying that in my opinion there is nothing easy about learning Tarot, but this book does a good job of breaking it down. Includes testing for your learning progress.

So glad I bought this book
I actually own an original copy of this book that was published in 1983. Unfortunately, it began to fall apart. I was so glad that this excellent book has been re-published. It is an excellent way to learn about the tarot. I highly recommend it.

I bought this book years ago when I began learning ...
I bought this book years ago when I began learning about Tarot. I use a different deck, but the information is relevant regardless. This copy is my 2nd one because my first copy has been used so much that it's in pieces after so many years. My nephew just got his first Tarot cards and I'm giving him a copy to guide him.One of the local stores told me the book is the #1 seller and I can understand why. Information is clearly presented with a helpful quiz option at the end of each chapter. One can access the quick reference section at the end of the book as well. This edition includes a new section that combines Tarot and Yoga which I have not explored.

The best book on understanding tarot
This is my absolute favorite tarot book. I've been using it for years and my original copy is so worn that the pages fall out. I bought a replacement, and also an additional one for a gift. This book is concise, the descriptions really help you understand what is truly going on in the card - the rider waite deck is so full of allegory - everything means something even if seems trivial at first, for example - if there are roses, how many? what color?. If there's water depicted, is it calm or are there ripples? if there is a person, what direction are they facing? It really makes you truly look at the card so you can understand and remember.

Good for beginners
This book was originally intended as a workbook for a beginners’ course on the Tarot, and that determines everything about it. It assumes no familiarity with the Tarot whatsoever, and it’s set up like a workbook, with frequent quizzes (short fill-in, matching, multiple choice etc., just like you remember from school). It uses the familiar Rider-Waite deck and concentrates pretty exclusively on standard interpretations of the individual cards, plus basic instructions on conducting and interpreting a reading with the Celtic Cross spread, also a standard. If you are a complete beginner and you like the question-and-answer kind of format, this book will suit you very well. It’s not a bad place to start. If you are ready for more depth to your study, however, I recommend more thoughtful books such as Rachel Pollack’s Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom or Robert M. Place’s The Tarot: History, Symbolism, and Divination, or more creative ones such as Mary Greer’s Tarot for Your Self or Marcus Katz’s Around the Tarot in 78 Days.

Easy Tarot Guide
This is one of my favorite tarot books and I have read many throughout the years. I recently lost mine and bought this one as a replacement. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a straight-forward, easy to understand explanation of the tarot cards. This one felt right to me the first time I read it and I have referred back to it many times. I also like the basic numerology meanings that she included in the beginning of the book to help better understand the relative meaning of the cards.

This book is amazing
This book is amazing. You will not be disappointed. It's well organized. There are workbook questions to help reinforce what you're learning. Her card descriptions are written in a way that makes it easy to integrate the meanings within a spread. It's a step-by-step guide that is easy to use, but still manages to be rich and insightful.

Excellent book
As soon as I read the description of the Hanged Man and the Fool I knew the author was writing from a place of spiritual wisdom. No nonsense about the little dog warning about cliff edges (he isn't), or daft comments about the sphinxes pulling in different directions (they are not).

Gutes Buch...
und rein zufällig, finde ich heraus, dass ich bereits die deutsche Übersetzung hatte! Das Buch hat aber ein anderes Layout und beide ergänzen sich. Tolles Übungsbuch. Absolut empfehlenswert.
