I was forgetting to change the setting when I left for work. I was very concerned that my electric bill would sky rocket so I bought a scheduler one. Sooo glad I bought this - the set up is.a breeze and far simpler than the other digital ones. The display could be a bit brighter but for the price i'll live with it being a little dark. Runs great to the planned schedule.

works great. You can adjust the swing time (how much you want the temp to drop before it turns on and off). It comes set to 1, which is the most steady temp but turns on and off a lot more and you can go all the way up to 9 which will let the temp drop a few degrees before it turns on agin but also goes over the set temp a few degrees before it shuts off. I hope this one lasts more then a few years.

We purchased this Luxor Programmable Thermostat to replace a similar but slightly different Luxor model in our home. The item arrived as expected and in good condition. Removal of the old & install of the new was easy with the provided instructions especially since the wire termination labels were similar. So far it works as expected. We have verified the FAN and the HEAT functions. but have not verified the AC operation, but I do not expect any issue. We are satisfied with this purchase & product.

Purchased this to replace an older, faulty thermostat of a differing brand. Installation and programming were very simple and straight forward. The directions in the packaging, regarding wiring and operation were very clear and easy to follow. I was up and running in less than 30 minutes. It's only been a few days, but the thermostat appears to be running flawlessly and, this could just be placebo effect, but my furnace appears to be functioning better as a result of this unit (more consistent, warmer air being produced) The Cons: The furnace filter feature is useless. Even if you change your filter regularly (which I always do!), but forget to change the settings in the thermostat to indicate you've changed it, the thermostat will stop working (to my understanding based on youtube reviews) until you reset the filter setting. What if you're away from home for a few days? Are your pipes going to freeze because you thermostat thinks your filter is dirty? How stupid! The swing setting is pointless. This is my fault for misunderstanding how it works, but I thought the swing setting just allowed the temp to dip a little lower in your home before telling the furnace to kick on, bringing the temp up to the desired programmed temperature. But it doesn't do that. Yes, it allows you to let the temp drop a little extra, BUT, when the furnace kicks on, it also raises the temperature an equal amount ABOVE the programmed temperature setting. For example. I have my thermostat programmed for heat at 63 degrees F. If I set the swing for 2 degrees, the thermostat kicks on at 61 degrees (as I want it to) but doesn't kick OFF until the home temperature reaches 65 degrees. Uhhhh, wut?????? No, bish, I want you to kick off at 63. THAT'S WHY I HAVE IT SET TO 63!!!!!!!!!! If I wanted you to kick off at 65, I would program the unit to kick off at 65. Thus, I find this feature pointless, as it just causes the furnace to run for a longer duration when it does kick on, negating any advantage of a wider temp drop. Finally, the face plate. An extra $10 for the cosmetic face plate? That's insulting. It's a little piece of plastic and you want $10 extra for that? It should be included. You can keep it! I deducted a star for this, the swing setting, and the furnace filter pointlessness. Other than these minor flaws, it's a nice, affordable programmable thermostat that is a little bit nicer than your bottom of the line Honeywell and other brands you would find at your local wally world.

Very easy to program The thermostat has good, tight, responsive control over my hot water radiator heating system. I installed two of them - one for each zone. They appear to be accurate. The display is not as bright as the marketing images indicate, but it is readable at close range without activating the backlight. The thermostat has all the features and simplicity I need. They have a nice clean appearance with instant changes possible by adjusting the exposed buttons. The access panel conceals the buttons which are less needed. Great product at a great price!

I bought and installed one of these in our other house before we moved. Loved it for many years. When we moved, our new place had an old mercury dial thermostat, that drove me nuts. I finally ordered a new LUX thermostat and love it. Much better accuracy, easier to read, and I can program 4 different settings per day, which at my age, I only use two per day. No more turning it down at night and up in the morning. Just program it and forget it ! What more can I say, I love it !!

Easy to install Very clear instructions

I've had numerous t-stats over the years and the only brand I've come to trust is Lux. This one is replacing another brand for my gas furnace and I have one more Lux that has been controlling a 70,000 BTU gas fireplace the last 11 years. I researched many t-stats under $Can50 before this one and I can tell you if you want to control a furnace, this t-stat has the absolute minimum features you need. From my experience with this t-stat and my other one, I can tell the team who worked on this t-stat put a lot of thought into it; their passion is reflected in the final product including the manual. I'm listing here, in no particular order, some of the features that in my opinion are key: a. you can easily configure 4 time periods for Mon-Fri and another 4 time periods for Sat & Sun. b. it has a very important feature called a swing setting. The swing setting controls the temperature hysteresis which in turn affects how often the furnace will turn on and hence how tightly the temperature is controlled. If you are sensitive to temperature swings, you may want to set a lower number but your furnace will now cycle more often. If you are less sensitive, set to a higher number for a lower duty cycle. Unfortunately the otherwise excellent manual is missing information on the hysteresis increments so I'm including them below. c. to change the display from the factory default of ° F to ° C, change the jumper shown in the manual AND do a hardware reset. Anytime you change the jumpers, you must do a hardware reset so the micro-controller can read the new settings. d. the display is back-lit e. it's very easy to install Although I've given it 5 stars and a glowing review, the following features would make it an absolute knock-out against which all other t-stats should be judged: 1. a pre-comfort recovery that will activate the heating or cooling in advance of the actual set program time so that the environment will be at the desired temperature at the start of the configured time. 2. a usage monitor that tracks the on time for today and for the week. 3. 0.5° C resolution because some of us are more comfortable at 21.5° C instead of 21° C or 22° C. 4. humidifier control 5. a constantly visible set-point - Swing settings and corresponding hysteresis increments - #1= +\- 0.25° F or 0.12° C (from Set Temperature) #2= +\- 0.50° F or 0.24° C (from Set Temperature) #3= +\- 0.75° F or 0.36° C (from Set Temperature) #4= +\- 1.00° F or 0.48° C (from Set Temperature) #5= +\- 1.25° F or 0.60° C (from Set Temperature) #6= +\- 1.50° F or 0.72° C (from Set Temperature) #7= +\- 1.75° F or 0.84° C (from Set Temperature) #8= +\- 2.00° F or 0.96° C (from Set Temperature) #9= +\- 2.25° F or 1.18° C (from Set Temperature) Example: For tightest control, set swing setting on #1 which is plus or minus 0.12° C. For a set-point of 21° C, the furnace will turn on at 20.88° C and off at 21.12° C.

I've had this installed for over a year now. I love it. Really good deal with all of the features I want/need for the price. The features I use: - It can display in either Fahrenheit or Celsius, and I set mine to Celsius being a Canadian - It has both Weekday and Weekend programming - For either the Weekday (Monday-Friday) or Weekend (Sat & Sun) programming, you can set what the temperature should be for FOUR times throughout the day. - You can set a desired tolerance before furnace/air conditioning kicks in again. I set my tolerance at 2 degrees. So if my internal temperature is set to 20C, it will get down to 18C before the furnace kicks on again. You can set this tolerance to a fraction of a degree. Very handy. - The 'override' function, which temporarily sets the temperature to higher or lower than what you had auto-programmed it to. ie, if you have company and they're perpetually cold, just hit the up button a few times to set the temperature higher. The override temperature will disable when you either, a) turn the temperature down again, b) when the next programmed time/temperature occurs. So if you forget that you had raised the temperature, but have it set to be turned down to a specific temperature at 9pm, at 9pm your override would be moot and the unit would return to it's normal programming. That's really all I need and use. It's been great.

I bought this unit to replace a 5-1-1 programmable unit we had in our hour for a forced air gas furnace. Installation was super easy (10min + temperature settings for program). This unit was a bit smaller than our previous unit so I've got some touch ups to do on the paint around it. I bought this unit primarily because it was programmable, inexpensive and most importantly had the ability to set a swing setting for when the furnace comes on. Our furnace was coming on for brief periods then turning off after a few minutes. Then it would repeat that again in another 5 minutes. Very bad for the motor and blower unit on the furnace. The swing setting has allowed me to reduce this "on-off-on-off" for the furnace significantly. Why I have it 4 stars instead of 5 was the factory thermostat readings were off and it does NOT show the current temperature in the house on the display. Plus the temperature can only be set to the closest degree no half degree like our old unit. Overall it is a solid little unit that is easy to read, set up and install. Plus it helps extend the life of your furnace other the swing setting. Would recommend it for its price but if I was to do it again I'd go for the Lux's 7 day programmable as it shows the current temp and gives more flexibility for programming.

Replaced the Honeywell T4 as it was not compatible with my furnace, the water pump will no work with the T4 thermostat, technician spend 2 day to trouble shoot why not working refuse to accept it is the thermostat problem, I have 2 furnace and both thermostat replaced by this company will not work on heating mode with water heat furnace. As soon as I replaced back with the PSP511, everything back alive and worked both heating and cooling . Take 15 minutes to install and good value. No problems

I'm in a unique situation, running my pellet stove off of a programmable thermostat. I bought a Honeywell, but returned it due to lack of swing setting. I picked up this Luxpro model, and with the swing setting at 9, I can set the thermostat to 67 and it will run until it just hits 70, and then it will shut down until it just hits 64, and kick back on to 70. It's PERFECT. It's made my pellet stove so much more efficient. Highly recommended for anyone in a similar situation. I've read about problems with other Lux units failing when the batteries need to be replaced, so I'm hoping the Pro version will avoid that.
