Is Sarna oily or greasy, or does it leave your skin oily or greasy?

I don' find Sarna particularly greasy or oily. When you first put it on, it will definitely feel like you have put lotion on your skin...so a bit "wet" and "slick" but it doesn't take but a minute for it to absorb in your skin. After that, your skin will feel "cool" (which is the best term I can think of for description). I have a rather large area on my back that is VERY itchy off and on during the day/night. I tried prescription and OTC creams with small amounts of steroids. These provided temporary relief, but since my condition is chronic and will not go away, I really didn't want to keep on using any amount of steroids indefinitely. My dermatologist suggested Sarna, and I have found it provides just as much, if not more, relief and there are no steriods involved. It is very soothing and calming to the area. It contains 0.5% Camphor and 0.5% Menthol and can be a pretty strong scent when you first apply it, sort of like the way Vicks Vapor Rub smells. But I don't mind the smell at all and it dissapates very quickly. Sarna alleviates the itching and keeps the area calm for me for most of the day/night. And because there are not steriods, it can ve applied 3 to 4 times a day. I am so glad my dermatologist recommended this to me! I hope it gives you the same relief.

How often should you apply Sarna to keep the itch away?

I only use it when my back itch returns. No need to any time else. Itch is usually gone by the next day!

Does the sensitive and foam versions both have the cooling feeling like original?

I haven’t tried the foam version, but the sensitive version does not have a cooling affect.
