Oklahoma Treasures and Treasure Tales

Title.
While it is entitled To be about Oklahoma the early chapters focus heavily on Texas due to the nature of on of the trails. Besides that it makes me want to go explore those areas to see if they do indeed still hide gold.

Bought it as a gift, but read it before I gave it
Very interesting tales of lost treasure in Oklahoma. My sister-in-law had a copy of the book, but loaned it our, and it was never returned. She had used the gook as a reference book, looking up facts, tales, and stories whenever a conversation went that way, and she missed it sorely. The book was for her, but my skimming the pages that told tales of treasure near Lawton. Loved it while I had it.

Wonderful book!
Amazing book with incredible attention to detail. Having grown up in Oklahoma, and still residing here it is really interesting to read all of the stories of hidden treasure, stolen money, outlaws, etc. There are photos as well and it paints the picture of what life was like during these times. Great book to share with your kids or grandkids to interest them in the history around them!

Things I didn't know about Oklahoma
Having grown-up in Oklahoma and my Grandfather was born in Indian Terrority, I thought this book would be interesting stories. As it turns out, most were based on some facts and a little imagination. Some were totally fact-based & some were second-third hand versions. I found this very interesting and plan to try and visit some of the places mentioned in the book. I have already investigated the very short story about Mud Creek near Comanche, OK. A friend knows the landowner where an old Spanish rock crusher is located.
