A Short Course in Photography: Digital 3rd Edition

I got this book for my intro to photography and I absolutely love it!! It made using my camera on manual mode so much easier and comprehensible!!! I have issues with memory and I keep this book with me for quick references!! Would recommend for anyone who is beginning their photography career and for those who might need a refresher!!!

This book provides very clear information on the concepts and principles of photography. It was required for a class that I am currently taking and I have not yet finished reading it. However, what I have read clarified many important concepts, such as depth of field, about which I was unclear. I feel much more competent and confident with my camera and my pictures have improved. It is an excellent introduction. If you are an "intermediate" photographer, you may find the concise explanations a nice review. If you are an advanced photographer, you probably don't need this book.

Very good detailed intro book. Just wish it wasn't so expensive so my photo students could afford it.

Bought this book for a class thinking it will be a waste of a book, but I was wrong I still use it. It helps me a lot when I forget things about Photography, even sometimes I forget about the basics. Sometimes I still use it for Inspiration, since it has lots of good photographs.

This book was very on point and direct. It was a very smooth read and came very fast. No issues. I enjoyed the quality of this book.

I'm not sure why they're charging so much for this thin book. Robert Hirsch's text covers similar material in far more detail yet is about the same price.

Plenty to learn, but such a beautiful way to learn it. A Short Course in Photography provides clear explanations of all photography elements with beautifully photographed examples throughout. While I've already marked up my copy and bent back its pages for easy reading, I've appreciated the way it "wears" --it doesn't seem to at all as it maintains a very sturdy, well-bound appearance.
