My daughter loves this book. Actually, so do I. Just be weary about the parts where it tries to tell you Krishna is impersonal and stupid stuff like that. The story is gripping and a great read. Highly recommend.

My friends and I have read and re-read this book countless times. Kamala Subramaniam makes it accessible, gripping and poetic at the same time. Sometime in your life, you have to read the Mahabharata. It is an uphill climb at first, but it is unparalleled. While western literature is like a tree with a single trunk/central spine and branches, this book is more of a banyan tree with multiple trunks and even more branches. How they synthesize is masterpiece.

I like that it is not full of commentary there are other books from this publisher and I have a few of them. This one has a Glued on cover but the other two do not. The hard back underneath is plain without title or printing so having the cover glued on makes some sense. It is easy to read and has few distracting grammatical errors. This is one of the Greatest Epics ever written and this book really does it justice. I am rebuilding my library and so this really helped and led me to buy others like it from this publisher.

Mahabaratam is a full long and lengthy epic. We have to study hours, days and months to complete whole Mahabaratam...But this book & author made a short and sweet stories which makes better understand in simple language and in interesting unknown facts way....i am full happy to bought this Maharabaratam...Thanka to Author.

SO RATING OF THIS BOOK IS NOT AT ALL NECESSARY.THE BOOK IS BEYOND RATING OF FIVE STARS.THOSE WHO HAS NOT READ MAHABHARATA, H DO NOT KNOW BHARATA. THANKS.

Bourgeois this for my daughter in IS

Interesting book, it was for my son, who wanted to read it, wanted something simple explanation and not too detailed, yes he read it full, yes he can now related to all those character which we keep mentioning in our daily life. He has not watched any of the TV serial, this was his first intro this great epic.
