Beginner-friendly, lightweight, and you don’t even need the foot pedal
After a ton of research, I chose this as a basic “anyone can use it” beginner machine… and the research wasn’t wrong. This machine is genuinely fun to use. First, it’s incredibly lightweight (about 10.5 lbs). My previous machine was so heavy it felt like moving furniture, so it basically never got used. This one is easy to pull out, set up, and put away. It’s also easy to thread, and the bobbin is simple to work with (no drama). I love the speed control and reverse button, especially as a beginner. The stitch guide/graphics and the digital screen/menu make it really easy to select a stitch and know what you’re getting. One feature I didn’t realize I’d appreciate so much: you don't need the foot pedal at all (yes, it comes with one). You can start/stop from the machine, control speed, and reverse. That means if someone can’t use their feet (or just prefers not to), they can still sew and keep both hands on the fabric. Performance-wise, I’ve already hemmed heavy jeans with no problem, even right over the thick seam. It arrived days earlier than expected, too. This is a winner. I would absolutely buy again and recommend it - easy to use, easy to store, quality machine. Quick answers Good for beginners? Yes, very easy to learn on. Is it lightweight/portable? Yes, easy to move and store. Easy to thread / bobbin easy? Yes to both. Foot pedal required? No. You can sew using the machine controls. Speed control + reverse? Yes, both are super handy. Can it handle denim? I hemmed heavy jeans and sewed over seams without issues. Is stitch selection easy? Yes, the display and stitch guide make it simple. Stitch options? Yes, so many options, basic to cute and fancy. Stitch quality? Great! I tried all the sizes and stitches, and they were all exactly like the front panel showed.

A Fantastic Sewing Machine for All Skill Levels!
I recently purchased the Brother CS7000X Sewing and Quilting Machine, and I am absolutely thrilled with it! This machine is a dream for both beginners and more experienced sewers, offering a perfect balance of ease of use and advanced features. First, the 70 built-in stitches are incredibly versatile. From basic stitches to decorative ones, this machine has all the options I need for sewing, quilting, and even embroidery. The LCD display makes it easy to choose stitches and adjust settings, and the interface is super intuitive. I love that I can see exactly what I’m doing, making every project smoother and more enjoyable. The automatic needle threader is a total game-changer! It saves me so much time and frustration, and threading the machine has never been easier. The quilt feet and accessories that come with it are also fantastic and help me get professional-quality results every time. I’ve used this machine for both basic sewing projects like hemming and making simple garments, as well as more advanced quilting. The stitch quality is amazing, and I love the smooth and quiet operation. Whether I’m working on delicate fabrics or heavier materials, it handles everything with ease. The adjustable speed control is another feature I appreciate, especially when I need precise control over my sewing. Plus, the machine has a built-in free arm for smaller projects like sleeves and cuffs, which is a lifesaver! This machine also comes with a comprehensive guide and a wide variety of feet, making it ideal for those who want to explore different types of sewing. Whether you’re new to sewing or have been doing it for years, this machine will meet your needs. Overall, the Brother CS7000X is a fantastic investment. It’s reliable, powerful, and has everything you need to create beautiful projects with ease. I highly recommend this sewing machine to anyone looking for a user-friendly yet feature-packed machine!

I wish I bought this machine sooner.
This is my second sewing machine and I am completely blown away by how effortlessly this machine works. I never thought I would call a sewing machine graceful, but it totally is. I am actually so grateful now that my original machine (another brand) broke because now I have this wonderful machine. It was easy to set up, and I love that it ends the stitch with the needle down, so you never have to worry about the fabric shifting and its an easy button to lift the needle back up to the right spot. I also love how easy reloading the bobbin compartment is and the screen helps you choose the right presser foot for the stitch. And it comes with all the presser foot options, like a walking foot! So incredibly happy.

Fantastic Sewing Machine for Budding Seamstress
This sewing machine has brought so much joy to my granddaughter as she dives into the world of sewing. Right out of the box, it's a breeze to use, allowing her to start stitching immediately. Although there are a few unique steps to master, the manual provides clear guidance. The machine sews beautifully and offers great value for its price. Its portability makes it perfect for sewing on the go, ideal for trips or sewing classes. Whether you need a backup machine or are a beginner to mid-level sewer, this gem will exceed your expectations!

Probably as Good as it Gets for a relatively Inexpensive Sewing Machine
I'm an experienced sewer but needed a new machine. This one is much lighter than the old metal one I've had for decades and I think some of my frustration with it lies therein.....I was so used to my old machine. Pros: I've easily learned how to use many of the functions and stitches and like the adjustable speeds. Con: I absolutely hate the way that the bobbin needs to be placed / removed. If you have large hands (I do not), you will not like this either I am thinking. However, it's an easy drop in method....the problem comes in trying to remove it. I would also have appreciated receiving more than one bobbin so the I could dive into my sewing pile without waiting to order more bobbins. Admittedly I didn't think about this so if you order this, look for extra bobbins and thread. The 6 pack of thread is appreciated but I immediately needed more colors. They don't make them like they used to. I hope the many plastic parts will hold up but I think that I will order a few spare parts while they may be available....the lever to raise and lower the foot for instance. I don't know if it's me or the machine but I have many instances when the bobbin thread "catches" when I'm removing the fabric after sewing.

Lightweight, affordable, and quality!
Well, I had to replace my original machine. The tension was always “off” and it wasn’t fun sewing. Just last week in talking to my cousin, she said she bought this machine. She said she loves it, so I looked into to it and while I had it in my cart, the price dropped $30!!! It also had a payment plan for 5 months w/o interest through Amazon, so I went with that! I just received it today, so I unpacked it and going to read instructions and get acquainted with it! I love that it is so lightweight and more compact, than my original! (I had a Kenmore, heard from 3 different people, they had the same issue with the tension, that was “off”) (In looking back to when I bought this Kenmore, it was in 1990 or around then, so it was time!) Brother sewing machines are a good quality name and for what I need in its functionality, it will be perfect! I like that it has the removable work table and comes with the hard protective cover! The fact that it has 70 different stitches, is a great function, will make sewing more enjoyable! Can’t wait to get started! Who knows what I’ll be creating!!! Happy sewing….🩷

I LOVE THIS MACHINE!
I'm so glad that I chose this model! It's super easy to thread and use. It's even easy to take apart to "clean the race" and get all the thread bits and lint out. Changing needles and pressor feet are quick and simple and the needle threader makes threading effortless. The thread cutter on the side saves me from constantly having to reach for scissors. For experienced sewists - BEWARE THAT THE MAX SPEED ON THIS MACHINE IS ONLY 750 STITCHES PER MINUTE. I'm a beginner, so this didn't matter to me. This machine has so many useful features and automatic functions, I almost feel spoiled. The stitch quality is great and I love that it tells you the best foot to use for every stitch. The settings can be changed with just the push of a button. Best of all, it comes with just about everything you could ever need. I still can't believe I got all these pressor feet and accessories for such a low price. It even includes a walking foot. The screwdriver included is perfect for getting into hard to reach places. I've been using the machine for 3 months and have no complaints. I've made 3 large purse linings with pockets and a zipper pouch with a quilted outside. I plan to start my first clothes pattern next!
