This set gives a marvelous cup of coffee. I use a 500ml (16oz) coffee cup, and this fills it perfectly. I had viewed several videos on the pouring method for pour over coffees prior to using this filter for the first time. I’m appreciative to those who created the videos as they taught me how to make the best cup of coffee that I’ve ever made. I would gladly recommend this set to any seeking a great cup of coffee.

Much smaller than shown, the rubber like collar was extremely hard to put on, and when the pour over was finished it was difficult to pour and the collar didn't help how hot it was to hold. No instructions with it, just some chinese on the box. The most important of all was that it wasn't "the wonderful sweet cup of coffee that even an amateur could pull off" as I had seen marketed. I watched several podcasts of coffee barista's techniques for this one. I have a chemex I've used for about a year with all the paraphernalia and it is good, so I think I have enough experience to know about this one. I sent it back, and one thing I discovered is that it uses more coffee grinds than my chemex, and I have more control with my chemex. Just my experience.

I hadn't used a flat bottom pour over before but this one has been awesome. The extra collapsible stand has been a nice addition - I often use it to dose my beans before grinding as well as its intended purpose.Wet the center of the filter and allow the water to wick up the edges if you want to rinse it. Since I've utilized that trick, I've had no complaints!

The Kalita is beautiful, but too hard to use. The coffee drips very fast through the filter, so getting a good cup of coffee is hit or miss, depending on your pour technique. I bought it to replace a reliable, old Bonavita dripper that broke, and is no longer made (the one with the valve). I ended up putting the Kalita back on the shelf and buying an Oxo dripper. The Oxo is ugly, but with the Oxo's slow, controlled drip speed, it's much easier to brew a drinkable cup on the Oxo than on the Kalita. Neither one is as good as the old Bonavita in combining ease-of-use with great-tasting coffee.

Makes good coffee. All glass. Dishwasher safe.

It makes great coffee and is easy to use. Unfortunately the glass is way too fragile and the carafe broke after using it twice.
