Cariboo Folding Bassinet (Mahogany)

This has been such a good investment! I bought this bassinet after deliberating and comparing it with several others for a few weeks. I love it. It fits right next to our bed, so he is close by at night. We live in an apartment and don't have room for a full sized crib in our bedroom, and the crib has been taking a long time to ship overseas and has yet to come in (we are at an APO) this bassinet came in only a month, which is fast for our location.I ended up with a c-section, and the height and depth of this one makes it easy to pick our baby up and put him back. Obviously, its a bassinet and won't last beyond a few months, but it manages to create a small comforting space as bassinets are meant to do while still being big enough to last a few months.I love:- That it is foldable and not that heavy.- The canvas is breathable.- That there is a changer component that you can add which is great for diaper changes!http://www.amazon.com/Cariboo-Bassinet-Changer-Espresso/dp/B007BIPMBQ/ref=sr_1_11?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1366613887&sr=1-11- The Colgate mattress included is rated very highly in the US.- My baby seems very comfortable sleeping in this at night.- The canvas seems cozy, and as it is all white, my son doesn't get over stimulated by looking around.- It is very sturdy.- The wood is renewable, there are no petroleum products used to make the bassinet itself.I Like:The crib mobile I bought from Pottery Barn fits on the cross piece - my baby loves to watch the little elephants in the mobile.The height is perfect for adding the changer, making diaper changes quick and easy, as its a great height to stand and change the baby without taking more space for a separate changer or trying to get down on the floor after a c-section or taking over our dresser. Highly recommend adding the changer if you are short on space! Also, I can continue to use the bassinet as a changer and store diapers etc in the bassinet below after my son is too big for the bassinet itself.It's fairly portable because of how lightweight it is.I don't love:The price. It was the price that stopped me from buying for several months. In the end though, I think it was a well made investment. And from looking on Craig's list and ebay, it retains its value and can be resold at a good price.The mattress - while it has an excellent safety rating is still covered with vinyl. I bought this instead of getting a travel crib to transport our newborn from our bedroom to the grandparents' and even to our vacation home- it's perfect! Not to mention easy to fold up and reassemble, it looks beautiful and modern. My only advice is to buy 2 fitted sheets (I end up cycling through ours twice a week).

I am about to be a grandmother and I will care for my new grandchild while my daughter is at work. The reason I chose this bassinet is because it is high enough so I don't have to bend way over (I have a bad back.). It is a beautiful piece of nursery furniture. The teak wood gives enough pop against the white fabric bed piece. It was so easy to put together , did it with my husband in ten minutes. It looks very sweet in the bedroom. It is portable, can be folded and moved from room to room and stored easily. It is quite deep which means a safer place for baby. I would say that if you want a family heirloom piece that is sophisticated cute and useful for all adults this is the one. I can't wait to put baby in it.

We couldn't live without this bassinet. We used it for the first 5-6 months with our 1st. We kept it right next to our bed. It doesn't take up much space, its well built, beautiful and the baby slept very well in it. Not to mention is matches our bedroom set to a T. It's light and can easily be moved around.We have #2 on the way and I can't wait to use it again!

Beautiful clean lines, great size for baby. I got this as a gift and have used it for two babies - the first one in our room for four months and the second one for six. Ten total months is a long time to have an extra piece of furniture in your bedroom so it's wonderful if it can be nice looking and not too bulky like this one! I also like that it folds or disassembles for storage. Takes some research to get the right size sheets.

We are on our 3 baby with our Cariboo. Just like new. Excellent quality, very easy to move to different rooms and takes up minimal space in use or in storage.Worth every penny.
