Hebrew Short Stories: Dual Language Hebrew-English, Interlinear & Parallel Text

I have been trying to learn Hebrew for three to four years utilizing various apps and Ulpan from the local Matnas. The results have been extremely limited and at 71 years of age I don't get anything out of trying to memorize lists of words and verb conjugation tables etc. These three books along with the audiophiles have been an unbelievably effective and enjoyable approach to the challenge of foreign language acquisition. I personally see tangible results in terms of building vocabulary and feeling more comfortable with a different syntax from English as compared to the standard approaches that were available up to now. This innovative approach with parallel and interlinear texts, romanization and audiophiles touches on every aspect of the learning process in the most comfortable and natural way for learning a foreign language. I think this is the best most enlightened contribution to language learning ever and give these products the highest possible recommendation.Avrum

I bought all three books in the series (Stories, Grammar, Sentences), and I'm leaving the same review for all three because my thoughts are similar for each book. Basically, I'm in love with the interlinear. The romanization makes it very easy to understand how to pronounce the Hebrew words, and the definition right below it means I don't have to spend time looking up anything in the dictionary. It's the best and makes learning Hebrew pleasurable.

My students love this book the best of the three. The stories are funny with natural language. The interlinear makes reading much faster, and they can understand without my help. I also bought the audio, and the Hebrew speaker is perfect. A tremendous resource for Hebrew learners.

Beyond my beginner capability. I think it requires intermediate standard.

Not suited for beginners learning to read Hebrew with the aid of the nikud vowel system.As a beginner it's impossible to "guess" the vowel sounds. I bought this book mainly to improve my reading skills, but cannot really use it for that goal.
