Premium Quality at A Great Price; Fit May Vary
This was my second attempt at a pair of Thursdays. My first was the Dukes on the old RT3 last. These Captains came on the new Kingmaker, which is rounder. I donโt wear the Dukes because of too much pressure on the tops of the toe box, a problem which unfortunately seems to replicate itself here, despite having ordered a different boot, in a different size, made on a different last. But, I canโt fault the obviously high quality and build of this product. So I will speak to that first. I loved the workmanship on the Captains. I ordered these in Arizona Adobe. The leather was beautiful, thick, and durable. I would agree with other recent reviewers that it was definitely more of a chocolate brown than the burnt orange that is pictured. Some folks have theorized that a certain batch of Arizona Adobe leather came in darker that others this time, and that this batch just needs to work its way through the product line. If youโre looking for something closer to the burnt orange pictured, try another color or wait until other folks (or the company itself) can attest to a batch that more closely matches the Arizona Adobe pictured. That all being said, I actually liked the chocolate brown these turned out to be, so your mileage may vary. Regarding construction, thereโs no question they would hold up to years of hard wear, the studded sole is tough and the leather remarkably scuff resistant. Laces felt strong and durable. Welt was clean and there were no errant stitches that I could find anywhere on the boot. The rubber studded sole was beautiful and high quality. The quarters seemed a little flimsy, I was expecting something similar to cowboy boot quarters which are often firmer leather or reinforced with plastic, but these felt more like dress shoe quarters to me. Obviously in a boot like this, and any shoe really, your heel doesnโt bend or flex or move much compared to your instep and forefoot, so the need for super tough heel quarters may be unnecessary, I only mention it because it felt strange given the heavier duty feeing about the rest of the boot. Apart from that, craftsmanship was truly punching above its weight class on these, and they represent a great value on construction quality alone. The problem, and itโs why I returned them, is the shape and design of the last does not work for my feet for some reason. Iโm a 10.5E on a Brannock device but I fit a 10D in most shoes and cowboy boots with a few exceptions depending on the boot maker. 10.5D in Vans. I followed Thursdayโs recommendation of sizing a half size down and ordered a 10D. The resulting fit was appropriate for most of my foot. They fit well everywhere, perhaps even a little wide in the midfoot. Heel felt comfortably snug despite my reservations about the quarters. The issue is the toe box. I can feel the toe box with the tops of my toes and it exerts a mild to medium but constant pressure on them. Iโve had trouble with ingrown nails in the past and after a few days, my toes just hurt and I start to feel that if I keep wearing them, my ingrown nail issues will return. Maybe I have abnormally large Big Toes on both feet, but this issue is usually not a problem with other shoes in similar sizes, including multiple pairs of Dan Post and Capitan cowboy boots with R toes and cutter toes respectively. Never had a problem. Going a half size larger with these, (as I did with my other Thursdays Dukes) makes my foot swim in the boots, they are much too large. Half size down or wide size wouldnโt fix a toe box that isnโt tall enough. The only thing I can chalk it down to is that the shape of the last just doesnโt work for my feet. Every bootmaker and shoe maker has different lasts around which they build their shoes to make a consistent product across multiple size and width configurations. Iโm sure last development is very difficult, and based on the huge number of five star reviews on these things, Thursday has obviously created a great product that works well for a lot of people. I wish they had worked for me. I suspect I might have more luck with the heavier duty models that come with lug soles and puff toes, but I find lug soles unfashionable for my sense of style. It may just be that Iโm out of luck on Thursdays. I really wanted to like these and to have them work out, but for that reason I had to return them.

Title: Great Boots, Even Better Customer Service (Perfect for Wide Feet, Including 3E!)
I had been searching for a pair of quality black boots for months and finally decided on the Thursday Captain in Matte Black. It is incredibly difficult to find this style of high-quality boot available in wide selections that can accommodate someone who wears a 3E (EEE) width. This availability is what initially sold me, though I was still hesitant to buy them online without trying them on, especially considering the price and potential break-in period. Initial Impression & Fit: The shipping was fast. Out of the box, the boots were definitely snug across the ball of my foot, but they felt instantly high-quality. I spent several weeks walking around the house to start the break-in process. The Defect & Customer Service: During the break-in, I developed an uncomfortable feeling in the bottom of my left foot while walking. It felt like constantly stepping on a rock, as the lugs on the sole were pushing through the footbed. I contacted Thursday Boots and explained the issue. The representative was excellentโthey requested photos to share with the production staff to diagnose the cause. To my surprise and great satisfaction, they sent me a replacement pair of boots free of charge. Final Assessment: The replacement pair was flawless. It took a few weeks of consistent wear to fully break them in, but once they molded to my feet, they felt fantastic. Look: They look great and sharp. Comfort: They are comfortable for walking and feel durable. Fit for Wide Feet: The fact that they offer a wide option for a 3E (EEE) foot is a game-changer. The initial snugness gives way to a truly comfortable fit after the break-in. I am extremely pleased with both the quality of the replacement boots and the exceptional customer service from Thursday. The positive experience was so significant that I have since purchased another pair of boots from this company. It makes me confident in purchasing from them again.

Absolutely Love Them!!
I think I have received the boots I have been waiting for my whole life! And that they will accompany me for a very long time. The feel, the style, the color, all unique and I can tell they were prepared and made with care. I wear a size 12 US, and they fit well.

Comfort and style.
Got these about a week ago. I purchase the olive and black coffee. I love both of those. They fit well and are very comfortable. I was a big fan of Johnston Murphy. I think I may still have purchase about more then 10 pairs of their boots. The quality was good until it stop being good and the leather started to crack and break, the boots falls apart if you trek in a puddle. So looking forward to seeing how long the Thursday Boots last. The reason for the 4 stars is the olive boot was delivered with a gouge on the welt. Not a deal breaker but maybe better quality control before shipping. I really needed the boot so did not want to send it back and have to wait for a replacement. Other than that, great boots for the price. So far, I am liking both the coffee and olive boots very much.

Prime Quality, Conservative yet Versatile!!!!
This is a great product!!! These classy and sleek boots are perfect for rainstorms, and they will keep your feet comfortable and dry; it's the sole reason why I purchased them. However, I guess you can wear them in snow, but for those that live in urban-city dwellings, please be advised that where there's snow, there's rock salt. The prime leather that Thursday constructs their boots is NOT designed to be resistant towards that kind of chemical in rock salt, therefore, if you don't clean off the rock salt asap, it will damage and deteriorate the leather of your Thursday boots. But overall, these boots CERTAINLY fits the bill. Much kudos to Thursday boots. Many thanks, guys!!!!!!

Good Quality Boots
Pleasantly surprised high quality boots. Sturdy thick leather uppers and rubber soles and stitchings. I wear size 12 in dress and tennis shoes. This size 12 boot fits fine, not loose or too tight. Leather coloring is good. Made in Mexico. $200 is nice price.

Ehhh
Upper is nice. Good in-between for casual and business casual boot. Looks fine with khaki type pants and jeans, would look bad with dress pants. The leather is ok. Seems a little cheap because eif how soft it is, which is not something I am looking for in a shoe boot. It's closer to Clarks than Wolverine. For $200 it would be fine if the bottom was more durable. That is my annoyance. I've had them for a month and a half, wear regularly but not exclusively, and have to replace the top lift already. Even the sole is showing real signs of wear, which for a boot is something I would never expect. It's good that can get fixed, but that's not free and a pain. For $200 and being a boot I am expecting some type of durability Even a shoe I would be surprised if the heal basically wore out in under 2 months. I have boots as well that both can be and cannot be resoled and these are the least durable pair I have by a good distance. I will say though that my pair of 1000 Milers last a good amount before having to get repaired, but after the repair from the closest cobler they only lasted about 4 months before having to get the top lift replaced. So maybe they are just making really cheap and soft top lifts and soles now. Either way not what I was expecting in regards to durability. So big issue with having to replace the top lift is it's nailed in. They'll have to take the nails out to out a new one on. It's supposedly a full leather heal stack and if I wear these the same way I'm looking at getting these fixed 4-6 times a year. Which means I'm ripping nails out and putting new nails in with each repair and absolutely destroying the heal stack. The upkeep on these then far outweigh the cost. You're basically buying a new pair of these every year or so in repairs. Then you'll also end up needing to get a full resole, which is like 150, much sooner. To me any boot or shoe should be able the get at least 6 months before needing repairs and if I'm being honest would expect it to be a year at the least before needing repairs to make buying these even close to making sense. The 6 months number is to be "green" as well. Any boot or shoe that you have if it only lasts 6 months you would say was junk. These basically lasted a month, which is lame lame lame. Sure I can get them fixed, but come on. The more I think about it the more disappointed I am. Old Navy clothes thing is more durable. Update: 3/15 Thursday Boots reached out to see and I was informed that this is normal wear for their boots... after casual use of 1.5 months. So if you plan on actually wearing these expect to have them at the cobbler every 2 months. Update:3-25-25 Since original post have only had to replace top lift one more time. I donโt wear them very often anymore, but still frequently enough. The main sole looks more or less the same. Good pair of shoes that toe the line of a boot.

Bad sizing and quality control issues
Well I'm going to make my story with Thursday boots, I saw an Ad about this brand about more then a year ago, and I thought that $200 for a boot was a lot for me at the time, and recently I saw a brand new pair of boots with box and everything on Poshmark, I got them in Arizona adobe 8.5 (see pic 1 and 2) size because I made a little bit of research and in the official website of Thursday boots they recommended go 1/2 size down, guest what they didn't fit they were too tight for me, also I realized that the stitches were over the sole, it just a matter of time for the stitches ripped off, it's just a bad construction, however I really like a lot the quality of the leather and I decided to purchase a new pair from Amazon same color but size 9 (my actual size, see pic 3), well... For my surprise this was a complete different boot the color Adobe was way lighter (wich I liked more)the other one was darker, and they actually fixed the stitches, they put the stitches under a welt chanel so they don't get ripped off against the floor, way better boot, but they fit too loose I didn't understand why so I made a more deeper research and I found out that after 2023 they made a new construction they called a kingmaker last, well I returned the size 9 to Amazon, I sold the 8.5 that I got from Poshmark, and I got and 8.5 from Amazon, now what? Well I think that boot was a return, they fit perfectly this time, it was another kingmaker last model, but the color looks dirty more darker than the previous size 9 that I received, and the sole had a defect a small piece was loose(see pic 4) so I returned this one and I purchased another one, yes another one, this one was in a brand new condition compared to the previous 8.5 but the color of the boot for some reason it was not the same as the color of the size 9 that I got before they look darker (see pic 5), the size 9 boot was pretty much like the picture that they advertise, the last 8.5 that I received it was similar but darker, however very good quality, it was not perfect though, this one came with a black spot on the leather (see pic 6) is small I'm going to keep it anyway, I'm just tired of this hole process, has been more then a month since I got the first pair. I'm giving 4 star because of the sizing that's something that you guys need to address and fix, and I noticed some inconsistency in the finish of the final product or quality control issues, I will try to update after a year just to see how they age with the time FYI: the first pair 8.5 the serial number started with 21 I don't know if this means that they were made in 2021, the boot size 9 starter with a 25 and the other 2 boots that I received started with a 24 in the Serial number I guess that's why the color was different from the size 9
