the Havanese

While preparing to welcome a Havanese puppy to our home, I have found this the best of several Havanese books available on Amazon. Authoritative, informative and well written, this is the book I would recommend to anyone considering having a Havanese as a pet.

I'm planning to get a Havanese puppy in a few months. Having always had huge dogs (Newfoundlands, Rottweilers, etc.), I am going the lap-dog route because I am getting older and can't lift the big huge dogs when they themselves get older and need help getting up off the floor or into the car. Knowing nothing about small dogs, I bought this book and have found it quite helpful in my education about this breed.

This book is full of interesting and useful information about a wonderful breed of dog. The Havanese is definitely a breed apart and this book covers all of the points needed by an owner, or new owner, of this breed. The author gives excellent information on the temperment and quirks of this little ball of fluff. She also goes into a great deal on the health issues that can affect the Havanese. I would definitely reccomend this book to anyone interested in becoming the mommy or daddy of a Havanese!

This book was a pleasure to read. I immediately read it cover to cover, because it so sensible, informative and well-written. Every page was valuable. Usually I skim dog books for the information I've looking for, but this had so much useful information, and was so obviously authoritative, I couldn't do that. If you have a Havanese in mind, you must read this book (and I think most other dog owners would benefit from its perspectives, too).

We bought this book 1 week after receiving our Havanese pup. Wish we had bought the book before we bought her :) This wonderful book is a life-saver! I trained another puppy 3 years ago (Pekinese/Chihuaua), and our Havanese is a lot more high maintenance. This book has given us wonderful ideas on training, and is a life-saver to our frustrations. Worth the price 100%. Thank you!

Much more comprehensive in compare to "Bichon Havanese" written by Z. P. Guera but printed in black and white unfortunately not like Havanese dogs colorful are. Some articles are ilustrated not enough I would say.
