Equal Exchange OrganicChocolate Bar Variety

I would give this product six stars if I could. I ordered them to do a chocolate tasting party and it was worth it. First, the company selling the chocolate postponed shipment due to a heat wave (even though they include an ice packet). I still receive the order in time. Second, due to being deployed to Afghanistan, they still arrived slightly melted, but tasted fantastic. I can't imagine what they would have been in mint condition. The two darrrrrrk chocolates were bitter but smooth. The orange had the perfect hint of citrus, the mint crystal added a wonderful texture and flavor, and the salted caramel had just the right amount of salty sweetness. I will order these again for another chocolate tasting party when I get back to CA.

If you like a variety of flavors, this is the one for you. From milk chocolate to very dark. Also orange--yum

The chocolate has a white powder like texture and tastes chalky. Reminds me of chocolate that is years past the expiration date, except the date on the chocolate is not set to expire to the end of the year. I tried reaching out to the seller and all attempts were ignored, they’ve had more than a month to respond! Luckily Amazon stepped in and resolved the matter.I understand that with products like this there is quality control issues, but their complete lack of customer service has turned me off!

The Good:This is the best chocolate I have ever ate and one of the few chocolates that does NOT include soy or sunflower lecithin. Both soy and sunflower lecithin cause me digestive distress and acne break outs every time I consume without fail.Due to my digestive disorders I try to stay away from any type of sweets especially those that include soy and sunflower lecithin. Admittedly I do have a weakness for good chocolate and I was so exited when I found this chocolate and it had no lecithin. I can eat as much of this chocolate as I want with no ill effects.So far I have had Equal Exchange's 80% Panama Dark Chocolate and their Mint (which I got locally). Even at 80% Cacao in the Panama, this chocolate is not bitter but instead smooth, creamy and silky. Simply the best chocolate I have ever ate. The mint is also the same but I would like to add that if you like Andes Mint Chocolate you will absolutely love Equal Exchange's mint chocolate. I actually prefer Equal Exchange's Mint and feel better knowing it has better ingredients.The Bad:I did not get the variety pack as advertised and is why I took off one star. According to this item page I should have received 6 different flavors. What I got was only 2 different flavors which was the Panama and Ecuador.The Ecuador isn't even shown as being one of the included bars. I was really looking forward to trying the different flavors and very disappointed I did not get the mint bar as advertised. Hence I cannot rate the bars I did not receive.

All the flavors are great. The Panama with the highest cacoa I believe 85, I thought would be super bitter but it's not like other brands I've tried. I could eat that one regularly. My favorite is the lemon ginger which gives a nice spice to it. I will definitely be ordering more from this brand.

The flavor, quick delivery and quality packing puts this seller and its product on the top tier. We especially liked the orange and lemon ginger. Pleased with fair trade concept too.

These are good chocolate bars. Better than mainstream chocolate. As another reviewer mentioned, the lemon ginger is the best - full of flavor and refreshing. Good to know that it is fair trade. Honestly, not the best chocolate I have ever had, but everyone has their own taste and expectations.
