It is definitely a small lighted compact. However, the lighting is weirdly blue cast. The mirror quality for the price is excellent. I bought this for my teenaged daughter to use for her stage makeup, since she rarely has access to a decent mirror space. It is adequate but not quite what we were hoping for. My youngest loves using it as a small flashlight though!
