Would this be appropriate for a boy 3yrs

Absolutely! I got it last year for my 4 year old and he loved it! I would think a 3 year old will really enjoy it! The spiderman plane is a little hard to open at first, but overtime it loosens.

Is this set too young for a 6 year old?

Not at all. Gave it to my twin grandsons on their 7th birthday. They were elated and lost track of their other gifts.

Will the vehicles allow the hasbro versions of spidey and his amazing friends toys to fit inside?

This comes with figures that fit inside. I don’t remember what size they are but if you look it up and the measurements of the figures you want to go inside are the same or smaller then they should fit ???

I don’t have the measurements, but the figures and vehicles were a good size. My son is 6 and he enjoys playing with them.
