Quidam

Was excited to grab this CD after seeing the show live. I usually get hard copies of cities partly because of the packaging... and unfortunately my copy's jewel case was smashed on the lower left. At least the CD was intact, but still slightly annoying after paying for it!

Quidam is probably not going to float your boat unless you are familiar with Cirque du Soleil. The music is from the show and is not easily listened to on a regular basis. For those of you who are interested in the cirque, this is one of my favorite soundtracks. It is deliciously haunting, head-rocking and good to listen to when alone in the car, or when trying to be creative. My copy came in perfect condition.

I'd like to start of by saying that the show its self is phenomenal. The music is spellbinding. This CD leaves much to be desired. It covers the basics, but there are plenty of songs missing. And "Let Me Fall" loses all of its emotional impact when translated into english.

This is a very good album but it is missing some of the best music from the show including Banquine, Handbalancing and Spanish Webs. Though if you want Banquine it is on the Journey of Man Soundtrack. I highly recommend this for any Cirque fan.

The music is enticing. I am imagining the show while I hear the music. I have a twelve year old who also enjoys the music, so I recommend it for most ages, especially for those who love Cirque du Soleil

Marvelous.... As soon as I heard the score I wanted to see the DVD, which I then ordered.A very fine contrasting score, the solo songs are beautifully sang, they are moving, amazing....Highly recommended.

Love it watch it all the time. It is like a cult classic.

Als ich ins Musikgeschäft meines Vertrauens ging, um die CD Quidam zu kaufen, wurde ich enttäuscht. Die CD war weder vorrätig noch konnte ich sie bestellen. Auf meine frustrierte Reaktion hin riet mir die Verkäuferin, mein Glück im Internet zu versuchen. Und hier wurde ich fündig. Nachdem ich meine Aversion gegen Bestellungen im Ausland und auch noch in Übersee niedergekämpft hatte, ging der Bestellvorgang so einfach wie immer. Lediglich der mögliche Lieferzeitraum betrug erstaunliche drei Wochen. Na dann!Nach zwei Wochen war sie da! Gut verpackt und original verschweißt.Die Klangqualität ist einwandfrei und die Musik gefällt mir. Deshalb habe ich sie schließlich bestellt.Ich bin froh, dass ich meine Vorurteile gegen Übersee-Bestellungen überwunden habe, sonst könnte ich mich jetzt nicht an dieser CD erfreuen, die mir schon manch lange Autofahrt erleichtert hat.

... LIVE hat mir die Musik recht gut gefallen, aber da gab es ja auch wunderschöne Bilder zu bestaunen und immer wieder neue Details zu entdecken. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob es an der Auswahl der Stücke liegt, die für die CD ausgewählt wurden. Von dem mytisch-phantastischen Zauber der Show kann ich nicht viel wiederfinden und die Musik für sich wirkt im trauten Heim doch eher platt und nichtssagend.Wer's poppig mag kommt vielleicht auf seine Kosten - am besten erst mal reinhören ...
