I have no regrets. Excellent
I love the mic i was skeptical at first but 4 months in I have had no problems and the mic sounds excellent. the look is beautiful and solid would highly recommend there are places still selling this mike for 799$ in other parts of the world so snatch it up if you can. you wont regret it! I bought an arm that is rated for 5 pounds for like 20 bucks and it has been working fine.

Awlful quality, poor documentation- Don't buy
I bought two of these mic's. When one package arrived (a week after the expected date when I ordered) I opened the case to find the screen had separated due to a shoddy glue job and was laying in the bottom of the case. The diaphragm had separated and was loose in the bottom of the case with the wires pulled loose. The second mic I ordered arrive in a box that was not sealed. It has no apparent damage but I've had it plugged in to a 48v phantom power source for 12 hours, and when I just turned it on it was not responsive. Just some static coming through my headphones. I'll give it another 12 hours on th charge and if it still does not work, I'll return this one too. Finally, documentation is awful. The is no instructional manual either on line or in the box. Something as simple as which way the switch should be to turn the mic on, given its non-standard symbology. Very frustrating after waiting for this delivery.UPDATE: Second mic looked OK when it arrived, however I after letting charge for 36 hours on phantom power, the mic still got no response over some static when it was turned on. I checked everything (cables, m interface, etc. and they worked perfectly with other mics, so it was definitely the CAD 300S not working. Either the internal battery was bad and would not charge or the electronics inside the mic had a disconnect or fault. Regardless, these guys are 0 for 2. The project I bought these for is now delayed and I'm pretty bummed. Won't be trying again with anything from CAD. Will go with an alternate mic.

Cad e300s
This is a very bright mic that captures a lot of detail. However vocalists with sibilant voices should avoid this mic and buy the e100sx instead. The e100sx will blow most mics out of the water, it is a sleeper mic that sounds vintage, warm, and virtually no need for a de-esser. All the perks of a true great microphone... Puts most pricey mics to shame. my Neumann tlm103 has a similar modern sound to the e300s but is less sibilant... but at the moment it's a lot cheaper so it's a bargain. In fact I would say for the price you could buy the e100sx AND the e300s... It would cover a lot of bases with two different flavours, one vintage and the other modern.

Fantastic Mic for Voice or Music
Absolutely fantastic microphone. Great quality, construction, and materials. The audio is superb. This is not a small mic by any means. I am sure there are bigger ones, this one has a large girth so keep that in mind if you want to buy a different shock mount. I purchased a shock mount that had the integrated pop screen because the clamp on pop screens just didn't want to wrap around the mic enough to get in the position I wanted. Or, they wouldn't stay in place and fell down. The integrated pop screen is the way to go.

Worked
The mic has an quiet and airy sound. Mine came in wired backwards, have to record with the back facing other than that seems fine. cardioid has neumann (103) like sound to it. Bright maybe not good on alot of things but for darker voices or instruments it will work just fine.

Great flexibility. Built like a tank.
Great CAD sound.

Big and precise sound for voice overs
Captures close, vocal nuances that showcase an identifying personality and honest character. I use this mic for practice sessions because the response is very accurate for my range (vocally, a tenor). When needed, I also have access to a moderately deeper range with the mic's recognizable proximity effect. Recordings are "true" (relatively flat frequency response profile) for critique and serve as a good neutral baseline for effects and enhancements in post.
