I am on the fence with this cover, price/construction best features, functionality is a con
I am bordering on returning this case for a few reasons. I'll lay out the pros and consPros:*Great look, I have the black/faux carbon finish and it has just enough texture to not feel too fake and plasticy. It also doesn't show any type of fingerprints or markings in about a month of use*Stitching and construction is solid and for the price I don't think you can do much better*Auto sleep/awake function when closed and opened is flawless and I love itCons:*There really isn't a good way to open this one handed, the clip is very tight. Consequently there is no way to get it to self-standing mode either because you have to un-clip the two corners from the case and bend it at the hinge. I would recommend bending the hinge quite a few times before you get the tablet in there to break it in a bit, it tends to want to return to its out of the package shape and pops out of the little felt grooves.*If you are right handed the clasp digs right into the middle of your palm, the strap is only for left handed use in most cases because many apps will not re-orient to effectively upside down with the camera in the bottom left corner if you have it in portrait mode. Some do-some don't but for me I find myself constantly spinning the stupid tablet around in order to find a comfortable position to hold this thing in.*The little elastic strap to hold the cover open is not doable one handed either and is rarely utilized by me because it is annoying. I wish the magnet in the clasp would rely more on a magnetic close rather than a physical clip and automatically held itself open by that same magnet when flipping it open. I know that would require a fundamental change to this cover but it is what really bothers me about this design*There is no way to have it stand up in portrait mode like some origami style holders.***UPDATE****I ended up sending this case back and going for the much slimmer MoKo Google New Nexus 7 FHD 2nd Gen Case - Ultra Slim Lightweight Smart-shell Stand Case for Google Nexus 2 7.0 Inch 2013 Generation Android 4.3 Tablet, BLACK (With Smart Cover Auto Wake / Sleep Feature) I am much happier with the new case and size/features

Good product, but some features are not cool by design.
This product feels solid. The case fits snug, and feels very protective of the device. The handle attached via those spandex-y connections, and is pretty awesome.Issues:Keeping the cover open without holding it open is weird. It definitely feels like a clever hack, not a thought out mechanism. You have to get a spandex-y string, that's attached to the inside of the front cover, that spans the case vertically. Then you get this string, then you pull it around your Nexus 7, which is fitting snugly into the holding compartment. At this point, a minor detail, but now the string has twists in it, so you (or at least, I) have to untwist them so it looks better. Now you have a piece of string covering a small portion of your Nexus 7.So, cleverly, you have to, using the leverage of the corner holders, hook the string on the front cover latch (which at this point is behind the Nexus 7), forming this zig-zag pattern with the string. It's not necessarily hard, just something you don't want to do a lot, and maybe that's a design intention.Another issue is that going from the fully-attached device to the horizontal multi-angle stand is annoying. To do this, you have to detach the Nexus from the 2 corners that leverage your device towards the outside 4 device-holding-things, to take advantage of the folding rear cover and to hitch your device into one of the two angle-providing slots. The case fits the Nexus pretty well, and having to take off the two corner holders is not easy (and it shouldn't be), and I'm not sure if it will wear down the corner of my Nexus 7 or decrease the rigidity of the corners themselves. This one, unlike the string issue, is going to happen a lot, so I just don't ever fully reattach the cover (since I'm going to be using it vertically soon again anyway, to do things like browse for videos, continue the chat where a video was shared). Then I'm really not sure when I want to re-attach the two corners again. This is a deep flaw, since I would want the case to be snugly attached to the device, yet a fairy important piece of functionality provided by the case is in conflict with that particular piece of functionality.Overall, "It's okay."

The IDEAL case for a Nexus 7 (2013) user who travels
This case is fantastic. Custom made for Nexus 7 (I have the 2013 version) with all the right cutouts. Great protection against drops (so long as you have it closed when you drop it). My nexus 7 automatically turns on when I open the case so it senses the opening of the cover. You can use this so many ways:>> If you open case and fold it onto back of nexus 7, there is a strap you can use to hold it in this position (small black strap has to be placed over the two corners of the device and over the clasp (sounds complicated but after the first time it is easy). Once it is help open, there is a hand strap on the case that you can slip your fingers through. This allows you to watch video while you are walking or while there is no flat surface but without requiring you to grasp the device for hours on end. Very important feature. I use this a lot on airplanes when my tray table needs to be up (or even during flight because my tray table is usually too far from my eyes for this size screen).>> You can unhinge the two bottom corners of the Nexus 7 from the case by popping them off (be careful you pop them off so it doesn't pull the nexus 7 apart . . . case is very strong). After you free the bottom two corners, you can set the case on a flat surface with almost any viewing angle hands free!Case is very attractive and the finish holds pretty well. The corners get frayed but this is to be expected. Case has a small fabric loop for inserting a stylus (I don't use this).I give this my highest rating with no hesitation after 2 months of heavy use.
