ShedRain WindPro Portable Travel Umbrella, Teflon-Coated Canopy

Says auto open--works fine / auto close--is not auto but manual close, to reset springs and length.push close Ad is misleading OR I just can't get the auto close feature to work ! / For man as slightly heavy from canopy size and construction. Putting it back into pouch is tight fit, so not a snap - would not want it if used OFTEN. Thought description rather made item seem like a one-handed easy operation, Anyway still to test out and figure if it somehow will AUTO-CLOSE as in ad, but seems highly unlikely. Too expensive for just auto open and manual close, unless the operation, material, and construction is as good as it appears. Due to size, slightly heavy closed or open is expected. Appears will be great in wind and rain-strong looking shaft and as compact as a reg. one. Expect will last rather long and work well, unless if frequently used. Good canopy design to protect two people. Rated 3 stars, as not tested-and misconception, I think so far, about the AUTO-CLOSE not being a real feature. I consider it top-of-the-line in general, so extra cost appears a good investment, vs. dealing with umbrellas breaking and small, but cheaper. Better than a TOTE brand, for sure. ---------------------- UPDATE UPDATE - On first use with light sprinkle and wind under 10 mph, it turned inside-out. Very surprised because of excellent construction, especially the wind resistance design at top, allowing wind to pass thru a small 2nd layer canopy cover. / Auto open button may require a few opening attempts. NOTE; Springs under good tension, so manual close requires good push./ Dry well, so no shaft rust ! / 1 star added to rating--BUY UPDATE--kept me dry few times in windy driving rain. A MUST TO OWN ! ADDING 5TH STAR for rating after using lots of times in rainy florida. UPDATE UPDATE -- NOT taking away 1 STAR for the tight fit to get this back into storage bag....mostly because I do not need an umbrella very often. UPDATE April 2014 - Carrying for "if it rains" - nice size. Cannot defend it under heavy wind really, as usually just rain with light wind....and when I use it, I'm usually on my bicycle, so holding it while steering makes keeping real dry, difficult. I do recommend it as probably one of the best, from Amazon. UPDATE Aug 2016 --owned 4 1/2 years --- Very Very seldom used as I'm retired, but sure works well when needed.

Nice!!! Opens and closes easy and not to big. Compact and easy to store and carry.

I have had two of these umbrellas. I like the automatic functionality. Push a button and it is open. Push the button again and it collapses, and then you need to use a decent amount of force to close it completely. I like the size of the umbrella - it is a good size to bring on days when rain is possible but not certain (if rain is certain, I carry a golf umbrella because I will be walking half a mile). The first of my two umbrellas worked great for a few years until I lost it in Australia. When I got home I bought a replacement and soon thereafter it turned inside out during a gust of wind. This had never happened with the first one. The shaft became bent when it turned inside out and the umbrella no longer opened or closed. ShedRain offers a lifetime warranty and they replaced the umbrella when I returned it to them. I'm giving 4 stars because ShedRain delivered on their commitment to customer satisfaction and replaced the umbrella although postage was one third the cost of a new umbrella. If it had not failed after one strong gust of wind, I would have given 5 stars.

If you’re looking for umbrellas that are compact, easy to use way practically nothing and great for travel. This is the brand you probably would want. I brought it with me on a trip and almost forgot I had it because it was so small when packed away their durable.

I received my new umbrella - ShedRain Windpro Mini - at the beginning of a long dry spell. So I really couldn't give much of a review until now. Over the last week however I have had the opportunity to test it in light, moderate and heavy rain but not strong winds. It has worked like a champ! The grip is a little short, but the umbrella is well balanced and the auto open/close feature works very well. I would consider it more a "compact" than a "mini" umbrella. The canopy is wide enough to give one person good coverage but not really sized for two adults. It is sturdy, the fit and finish are excellent and the materials very attractive - I bought the basic black. I am very pleased with this product and expect it to last for years.

"Vented double canopy provides superior wind resistance and withstands any windy, stormy, or rainy conditions without inverting or breaking" None of this is true. This umbrella inverts as easily as any other cheap umbrella that I ever owned. That's not that big of a deal. What is a bid deal is that while it is true that its struts are made from fiberglass (at least I think it's true) the fiberglass parts are connected together by plastic parts that break easily.

As a guy who works in the city, I have to park and walk to my building which is about 5 minutes away. I have a big golf umbrella but I needed a small portable one for the chance of an occasional shower. This umbrella was the answer! I love the small compact-ness of the umbrella but it's awesome ability to deploy and expand to a very large size is great. It's comparable in size to my golf umbrella when deployed. This gives a great coverage area and is even big enough for two people. He only complaint I have in the umbrella is also related to its size. When deployed, because it is so big (and light), the least amount of wind is able to push the umbrella very easily. I feel like the ShedRain WindPro Jumbo is sturdy so I'm not afraid it'll break on a strong gust but it's not very stable in wind. But overall I am very pleased with this product and would purchase it again!

Hold itself throughout the years pretty well. Mine is still going great. No major or minor hiccups at all.

Funciona bien el mecanismo para abrir y cerrar con un botón, es compacto y cabe en una mochila pequeña. Para cubrir a una persona. Con viento muy muy ligero funciona bien, pero con el viento de una lluvia normal de la Ciudad de México se voltea

Van suoer bien en lo personal he tenido varios paraguas de diferentes marcas y nada como shedrain los demás a la primera ventisca se rompen estos eh estado con el viento fuerte y no les pasa nada, ademas me gusta mucho la practicidad del boton que la cierra automatico
