Wacky Paws Pet Sling

USAGE: I ordered the larger size because my cat is 9.5lbs. It's a little loose, but she seems comfortable. Her head still comes out of the hole at the right height. I usually set the bag down open, put her in and zip her up, then cinch the neck cord before the velcro. Another review said their pet likes to chew on the cord. My cat loves cords (duh, she's a cat), but if I velcro it away from her face she directs her attention elsewhere, like on squirrels and birds. After walking with her in the sling, sometimes she wants to get out. Because she's only 9.5lbs, I just un-cinch the neck hole and she jumps out (without unzipping the bag).When we're at home, I leave it on her bed and she likes to nap on top of it. I think she likes the material because she does that with my gortex backpack too. (This isn't gortex, btw.)CLEANING: My cat got a bit sick the other day and left a delicious puke on the mesh. The directions say to wipe it with a cloth, but I was like unh-unh, no way, that thing is going straight in the washing machine; I don't care what those instructions say. So, it made it through a normal cycle in the wash. Then I hung it upside down with the zipper open to dry. It suffered a minor scratch on the bottom "leather" section, but not a big deal. Probably no one would even notice, just me because I was inspecting it for damage.QUALITY: Seems like it's made pretty well. The manufacturers were cheap about the clasp for the cord though. It kept getting stuck at first. I had to file down the plastic, but then it worked fine after that. Everything else looks sturdy, well-sewn, good zippers, etc.I would recommend this product to another cat owner, and it's probably fine for dogs too, based on other reviews.

size warning... online this item in size small seems to be for pups about 10lbs or less and the large size for 11-15lbs however upon receiving the size small for my 7.5lb maltese i saw the tag with a different size chart...SIZE SMALL: L16.5" x W5.125" x H9" MAX WEIGHT: 6.62lbsSIZE LARGE: L19" x W5.5" x H11" MAX WEIGHT: 11.02lbsSIZE X-LARGE: L21" x W5.875" x H13" MAX WEIGHT: 17.64lbsi will say that even though my little one is a bit too large for the size we received, (can't believe I'm calling my 7.5lb munchkin big... our 80lb lab is big lol), we decided to try it anyway and she attempted to snuggle right in and although I cannot zip it all the way and feel good about it, she seems pretty stoked on the style and feel of being snuggled closely. I'm very excited to exchange it for the right size and start new hands free adventures when the tiny legs tire!

I purchased this sling to ride the bus with my 3 month old shih tzu poodle mix. He is about 7.5 pounds and will be about 14 pounds when full grown. The carrier is currently very roomy and I'm fairly certain it will still work well when he is an adult. Because he isn't fully vaccinated, this sling will also allow us to socialize in public with reduced risk for contracting diseases. In his closed carrier, he gets car sick. In the sling, he didn't even get drooly. This works as well or better than I thought it would. My dog doesn't seem to mind being in it much. He was very calm the first two times we used it, but a little squirmy the third time.The sling seems pretty well made. I'm going to untie the cinch cord so it has two loose ends because that seems easier to use and safer. I like that there is a vinyl bottom. If my dog pees, the carrier should contain it. The strap is mostly comfortable to wear. The fabric is breathable so my little puff ball doesn't get too warm.I wish the sling went over my right shoulder so my dog sat on my left hip, but it doesn't. I wish the strap was a little bit longer because I am a little bit fat and very busty, but we make do. I think it looks a little bit silly, but that is obvious.This is a well designed product that fits my needs well and I would recommend it. It seems more safe, stable and easier for the dog to tolerate than many similar products.*** Edited after note: In Portland, on public transit, some bus drivers do not consider this an adequate pet carrier.

Good quality arrived in time estimate.It's kind of an odd angle and so the angle of the hole choaks my dog. I place a blanket underneath him which raises him up a bit. I think maybe it's a size to big for my 13lb dog.Either way the zipper should be on the top of the bag not so far on the side because it's prone to be chewed loose. I find him half in the air attempting his escape frequently...I'm not sure which he enjoys more the bag or the challenge of getting free when he's decided he's ready to walk again.All in all I use it frequently with my own adjustments. Depending on your dogs size this could be a very awesome bag.

I didn't actually get the chance to see whether this carrier would work for my dog because when i opened the packaging, I found that the zipper pull tab was broken off making the carrier unusable. The merchant, Barker Brands was very accommodating and sent me a return authorization form and even paid for my return shipping. I really liked the carrier except for the zipper. It was pretty and looked to be well made and of good materials.

I purchased this item from Amazon only approximately 8 months ago. It was nice but, after only a handful of uses, the zipper pull fully broke off rendering the carrier useless. I contacted Wacky Paws requesting assistance and, hopefully, warranty service, The response I received was less than helpful: "Unfortunatly products purchased through amazon are not covered through our returns and damaged goods policy. Our products do not come with a warranty due to the nature of there use. Please let us know if you have any other questions regarding any of our products as we would be happy to help you." I would recommend finding a different alternative from a company that stands by its products and stands by Amazon purchasers.
