OrbitB-hyve 8-Zone Smart Indoor Sprinkler Controller

The Orbit 57925 was easy to install, I spent less than 30 minutes removing the old controller, checking wires, installing, and verifying all the zones worked.It has a simple screw interface for each wire set.The phone app is nice as well, it allows me to water manually, set a schedule, or allow “smart” watering based on a few parameters. I can connect wifi or bluetooth as well. I like this little unit.I can stop watering for a period, 1 day etc, or create several schedules and assign stations to each schedule.Way better than the old manual one.I like this unit! Its easy install, the price is great, and the app is solid.

Works flawlessly. Easy to program different zones. Makes watering so much easier.It’s an indoor timer but I have it in a closed box outside. Should be fine for years to come.

Installation was very easy, it replaced an old school controller without wifi. The app is very decent.

I was debating whether to go with the more expensive Rachio system or the budget Orbit system. There were enough positive reviews to go with the Orbit system, as I only need to program 5 zones. Two zones require multiple watering times during the peak of the summer; other than that, I only need to water the lawn 2-3 times a week, depending on municipality water restrictions. It was as simple as removing the old controller, wire the power and zones, downloading the app and programing the watering schedule. Straight forward for the average tech. Hopefully, it will last longer than 2 years! That was the shortest review duration that I read up on. The unit itself is a standard electronic board; it only needs to direct an electrical current to the solenoids; everything else runs through the app. There were a few glitches when setting up the watering schedule, but that was easily fixed by closing and reopening it. It looks as though the test run times can vary from previous app versions (current ver. 3.0.37). I'm very satisfied with the control unit. It was long overdue for me to move into a wifi unit!
