It was a great buy. I will continue to use it for ...
The game ready definitely lives up to its name. The cold compression has really helped me get back in action faster. Being a weekend warrior now that I'm getting older I use for preventive maintance more than anything. Now I don't have to worry about Ice bags anymore. I have no complaints. It was a great buy. I will continue to use it for years.

Cumbersome, nearly impossible to connect hoses one-handed, post op shoulder.
This machine and shoulder sleeve were rented through hospital referral after my total shoulder replacement surgery. My surgery arm is required to be in an abduction sling for about a month, rendering me effectively one handed for now.PROS: Sturdy construction and effective ice water recirculation.CONS: Where to begin...? First, it seems that little design thought was given to real world use by an at home user, particularly when the patient (such as me...) has limited mobility and/or use of only one hand. This was evidenced clearly every time I needed to disconnect/reconnect the triplex hoses to allow me to move from my recliner for bathroom visits, meals, trips to PT, etc. My wife struggled when using both her hands, and I found these hoses nearly impossible to connect with one hand. Another set of promlems become apparant when trying to set up and operate the various control functions The button operated set up is not very difficult for a non-patient assistant, if you have one standing by. But reading and operating the correct buttons, which are often turned upside down due to machine orientation, becomes much more difficult for a patient with limited reach and restricted phhysical movement abilities.Note the 9 buttons are not back lit and are all identically round and arrayed in symetrical rows around the brightly lit central display. In a dark room, they are virtually invisible.Perhaps the next itteration will come with an app for my phone? Until then, best to have your assistant standing by 24/7.

Game Changer!
The unit worked as expected. Keeps cold and compresses as it should. It's amazing..

Professional Grade and works well to ice your leg.
I returned because it was noisy in a home environment, in the middle of the night with very little ambient noise it was pretty loud. Also, it sucks ice, even solid chunks made from frozen sandwich baggies would not last over two sessions. It is GREAT if you are using in the daytime at home or in a noisier environment and really does help in recovery.

Great device, just too expensive
I get some of the negative reviews. This thing shouldn't be over 1000 bucs but apparently they have the market cornered. If money is not something you are worried about, it is fantastic. ICE + compression helps the healing process.

Doesn’t live up to the hype
I had friends who raved about using it for knee replacement so I decided to go with it for my second knee. This is not something you can manage by yourself. Once you get stuff connected, the constant ice and water filling takes a lot of time. Mine was rented through my ortho - $80 for the sleeve then $75 per week for the machine. Trying to return it early was a huge pain since there are no details on what constitutes the “sleeve.” Two trips across town but I saved $75. I didn’t find it more effective than a 12x12 ice pack and think that the pressure actually made my swelling worse. Not sure why my experience was so bad compared to my friends.

The best healing accelerator for knee surgery
I have used the Game Ready RICE system for more than a decade now.I had a catastrophic injury in a car/bike accident, with many follow-on surgeries.I looked around to buy my own and found one at Goodwill for $800. It needed maintenance badly - I had to clean what looks like pet hair out of the filter in the reservoir and replace all the o-rings on the control unit, the connector hose and the wrap. GR wanted a fortune for these replacement o-rings (plus shipping!) and I looked all over the web and finally found reasonably priced sets on eBay. ("Game Ready o-rings")That's about all I needed to make my machine work like new. GR is the best way to reduce the amount of heavy pain meds I need to take when I need help. My go-to wrap is the straight knee. The ankle and half-leg boot wrap are also really good, as is the lower back wrap.I've seen some of the other wraps in use and I agree with the other reviewers that the shoulder wrap is awkward and hard to make work well. I also agree that the system is hard to plug together when treating any part of the body where you have only one hand available. The food grade silicon spray GR recommends for use with their equipment makes it a lot easier: 500 PSI Silicone Spray-Pump https://www.amazon.com/500-PSI-Silicone-Spray-Pump/dp/B000KD7DACBest wishes for accelerated healing,

“Game Ready” Post shoulder surgery device (NOT Recommended)
The cooling feature is barely passable due to poor fit. The compression feature is downright torturous. In the cooling setting the device fits so poorly that I have to place a small weight on top to keep the device in contact with my shoulder. These people need to return to the drawing board and start over.
