Niteangel Water Bottle with Stand

If you need a stand-alone water bottle for an glass aquarium cage for a hamster, this is a good one. My hamster is a chewy little beast who chews on pretty much anything he can get his little chompers on, but he has not conquered this water bottle. It's very sturdy plastic with an adjustable wing-nut in the back of the unit that holds the water bottle shelf in place. The water bottle is relatively small, 80 ml or about 2.7 fluid ounces. It's also very stable and safe, easy to clean. My little monster uses it as a ladder to reach the top of his cage, and as far as I can tell, there are no safety hazards with respect to wires or ways to hurt himself. Just the right size for a Syrian hamster. The great thing about this water bottle is that it doesn't take up a lot of room, and it is height adjustable. Keep in mind that the spout should be checked every day to make sure that water is flowing. I tap the end a few times until I see air bubbles releasing in the bottle. The flow can be adjusted by loosening or tightening the metal end of the spout. I keep it fully tightened, and I have not noticed any problems when my full-grown Syrian drinks from it. If you unscrew the end of the spout and look inside, you will see a small plastic tube that runs from the twist-on cap to the metal spout. The stopper ball sits freely in the metal end and blocks the flow of water when it's not being used. I did notice that the ball retracts a little bit when my hammy is drinking, so smaller rodents (dwarf hams & mice) may have trouble unblocking the stopper ball. I have not had any leakage issues.

I highly recommend them! Hamsters are naturally fastidious little creatures. They groom themselves often, keeping their fur soft, clean, and free from debris. And just like us, a fresh, clean source of water is essential for their health and happiness. Watching Bodhi drink so eagerly is a sweet reminder of how important proper hydration is—even for the tiniest of friends!

Great size for all hamsters ! There is no leakage because the hamsters can drink out of it well. There is not much noise and it’s built very well.

I purchased this Niteangel water bottle for my Roborovski hamster, and it turned out to be completely unsuitable and dangerous for very small hamsters. The metal ball mechanism is far too large and heavy. My hamster was physically unable to push it to release water. The ball also became partially stuck, making the problem worse. As a result, my hamster was left without access to water for an extended period and nearly died from dehydration before I realized what was happening. This product may be acceptable for larger hamsters or other rodents, but it is absolutely not appropriate for Roborovskis or similarly small animals. A water bottle for hamsters must prioritize a very light, responsive valve. This one does not. I strongly advise against using this bottle for small or dwarf hamsters. In my case, it posed a serious animal welfare risk

I read all the reviews and still decided to purchase this water bottle set, regardless of the bad comments. I trusted the NiteAngel brand as I've previously purchased many of their products with no issues. The 1st order I received was covered in fuzzy mold! They sent a replacement, but I had to drive over to the ups store to send the moldy one back. Unfortunately the replacement ( 2nd bottle) is not working! I tried using only one metal ball, and even took the clear plastic piece located inside the nozzle out like others recommended, still nothing! I didn't overfill it with water and I tried shaking it to get the bubbles out like others mentioned...nothing worked! My hamster could've died if I was gone away & depended on this item as I should be able to!! I would like another replacement! I shouldn't have to keep driving up to the ups store to ship the item back multiple times! It should work the 1st time! I'm not sure if this was a defective product or not. I understand there's defects occasionally, but both times I've had issues!?? I wouldn't recommend this product! This water bottle set is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but possibly deadly for your hamster/pet!! **I will update my review if this order gets fixed and the product works correctly! UPDATE: I wrote my review and the seller responded within 24hrs! I replied back to their message they sent, and they responded back within minutes to make sure I was a happy customer. They seem to genuinely care about their customers & I appreciate that. They're sending me a new bottle out today, with no hassle of returning the defective product again. That's pretty good customer service! I'm extremely happy with how quick they responded & how they truly cared. I will gladly continue to purchase items through this company!

It’s sturdy and easy to adjust and looks nice. Our issue is that the ball bearing gets stuck frequently - at least once a week or so - which is a major issue. It’s dislodged with just a finger press or two, but our poor little hamster can’t drink out of it when it gets like that and she becomes dehydrated if we aren’t vigilant. We were hoping after some breaking in this problem would resolve but it’s been a couple months and it is not improved. We’re looking for alternatives/solutions. Still giving it 3 stars for the fact that it’s otherwise good quality and if you don’t mind the hassle of checking it every day to make sure it’s flowing, then it’s fine.
