Excellent Textbook for the Undergraduate or Expert Engineer
Like many engineers who are in their fifties I am trying to keep my skills and expertise up-to-date. Learning Creo Parametrics offers a huge upgrade in my capabilities if I approach learning this solid modeling course in a systematic fashion. When I was at Vanderbilt University in 1974 I learned to use two plastic triangles and a protractor to create 3-View Drawings. In 1998 I learned Unigraphics solid modeling at Bell Helicopter Textron. Solid Modeling is a huge jump compared to the old days of making 3-View drawings. You create an actual computer generated image of the part and from that solid model you can project the 3-View Drawings as needed plus any other views which made be useful. This is a key skill which most engineers should be able to do. Also from the solid model you can do stress analysis, fatigue analysis, dynamic modeling, thermal analysis and what if we change the main features configuration analysis etc.Like any thing else that is worth while to learn you will need to be a hard worker to master this software. Probably you can learn the basics of the software in about 200 hours and be fairly proficient in 1000 - 1500 hours so it does take a commitment to learn it well. Learning Creo Parametrics is similar to learning a foreign language or playing a musical instrument. You will have days of frustration when you think you are regressing in your skills and then all of sudden you acquire a skill creating a solid model that previously seemed impossible. Patience and practice are the key elements for learning this skill. And doing lots and lots of examples that get progressively more complex. You need to practice at least 3 - 5 times a week even if for only 30 minutes. This book is big help and shows many examples and starts with easy solid models and progresses to more complicated projects as you would expect. This book is not cheap but it does have nearly 600 pages of easy to understand steps and diagrams. It starts off teaching you how to use the 2 dimensional sketcher and from the first sketch you extrude a solid model. Creo Parametric is one of the most widely used CAD/CAM sofware programs in the world today and replaces Pro/Engineering. If you are looking for something intuitive to learn and cover many engineering analysis capabilities you will not go wrong if you choose this software for your Dwg and Solid Modeling capabilities.Highest Recommendation for a Solid Modeling Sofware that is intuitive and is somewhat user friendly.

Cewo Parametrics / textbook
For a textbook its not good as I expected. The explanation part of the software is not good. The instruction per each lesson are not organized in a logical order.

Includes over 40 hours of quality Creo Parametric College level lecture!
I was amazed to see that the new book comes with over 40 hours of quality Creo Parametric lecture by the author. Of course Gary Limit's propensity for writing textbooks throughout the years truly comes out in this new Creo Parametric book. He has written over 40 engineering graphics and design books in his long prolific career. I could not ask for a better manual to instruct my many students with. Concise and well presented with a strong approach on appropriate parametric modeling techniques that are not usually covered in other CAD books. This is without a doubt the best-written introduction book on any PTC product I have ever worked with. It is also quite good as an upgrade book. Not only does it cover parametric modeling with a step-by-step approach were one learned technique builds on another, but it also covers assembles and detailing as well. It comprehensively covers the new Creo Parametric UI on many levels and how best to maneuver through the new tabs. The book includes access to his personal web page "CAD-Resources" dot com, with a link for a free Tryout Edition of Creo Parametric & Creo Parametric 2.0 as well as over a dozen complimentary projects that add hundreds of free pages for the user to access and the ability to stretch and practice what they have learned. What a deal...If you find a better introductory Creo Parametric book I will eat this one! The others may be a little less expensive but they all pale by comparison. The level of detail is phenomenal and Lamit provides a nice errata pdf on his web page "CAD-Resources" dot com for free as well as a lot of other useful recourses and lectures.

Very good guide about Creo Parametric
Easy step by step passages and exercises that allows you to start using Creo in a couple of weeks. Authors should think about a second volume with a more deeper view of some aspects and tools.
