MPO's Seed Storage Box

I bought mine 2 years ago. Yes, it's $16 + $10.50 shipping for what is essentially a plastic container with compartments. You should still get it, won't regret it, here's why:Two seasons ago, I had been searching for a product whose purpose is the same as this one. Couldn't find it in big box stores or anywhere else I looked on the net. I finally caved and bought it.I used a Sharpie to label my compartments. This has worked good except for vegetables I don't plan to grow any more, which are very few. In these cases I crossed out the old label and wrote in a new one. Obviously you could use stickers, pieces of tape or whatever alternative works for you to make labels. I've also started folding up the empty seed packets small enough to fit in a compartment with the seeds, in case I need to refer to it.Yes- certainly, you can store your seeds in empty jars, take out containers, plastic bags, old tackle boxes, or what have you-, for free. If that system works for you, more power to you- your storage area and organization system is more advanced than mine and I envy you.I just find that this container's shape and size are far more convenient for gardening, and you may not appreciate it until you've used it for a season or two. For one, when you make a trip out to your plots in the spring, it's nice to have your entire seed collection right in front of you to remind you of what your planting choices are, and what your seed inventory looks like at a glance. Second, I maintain home gardens in two locations. This box is the perfect size to grab in a hurry and take with me for planting in both areas- and again, nice to have my entire inventory on the go. Its size is just right for storing in a low profile area on a shelf or in a cabinet. Third, the little removable plastic cups that fit in the containers make planting itself convenient. Just pull the one you want out with one hand, and use the other to pick up the right amount of seeds to plant. I couldn't stand fishing around for a packet of seeds somewhere only to find out that its contents spilled out during storage or handling of it (but you may be less of a klutz than me). Finally, unlike reusing other types of containers, like ones you get with takeout, this plastic is more durable and will last much longer.I only have one significant complaint. From my observation, the container can't be turned upside down with seeds in it. I did that once and ended up with spinach seeds mixed up with my herb seeds. If not for that, I'd have given it at least half a star more.I'm becoming more happy with my purchase each season, which is why I just bought another one last month to expand my collection. I've actually been very surprised there haven't been a glut of competing products out there, and until there is, I doubt you'll find a better solution than this product.

This shipped fast and it's exactly what I needed. I was pleasantly surprised that the cups come out of the box which makes things much easier when it comes time to plant. It even came with nine extra cups. Extremely pleased with this purchase highly recommend it

Seed cups do not have caps to keep seeds in container

This is a simple plastic container with removable plastic cups to hold seeds. I purchased this as a companion gift to a gardener's journal. The seed box does not come with labels or a marker which would be a nice addition. In all I think my backyard gardener will be able to not forget about last year's saved seeds with this handy container. He did however ask if I was trying to organize him.

i got this as a gift for my boyfriend to organize his seeds. this is perfect and he loves it I've bought him another one and he wants more! its nice you can remove the cups and label on the lid whats in each box. this was exactly what he needed for easy compact safe storage for all his seeds.

Excellent storage container for all my seeds. Copied the one in the picture and just taped the seed package name onto the top so I know what seed it is. When you plant, you don't have to go up and down and back and forth to plant different seeds. It's all right there.

Product was exactly as described and I ven got some extra cups!

I love this. I used my label maker and finally feel like I have my seeds organized. I'll probably buy another!
