Vava phone holder
I haven't put this to serious use yet because I just got it. But my first impressions about the fit, finish, and serviceability are good. I am a machinist, fabricator, mechanic and evil inventor by trade and i know a quality "plastic" device when i see it. Someone put a lot of thought into engineering this thing to be strong and last. I find no weak or fragile components on it. It carrys my turbo 2 phone just fine. This is no "fluffy" trinket. It works as advertised.

Home Shop Machinist
For those lucky few with a metal shop in their basement, or a long suppressed desire to have a metal shop in their basement, this is an essential read. Of all my magazine subscriptions Home Shop Machinist is the one that I look forward to the most. Home Shop Machinist provides detailed descriptions of projects built by other hobbyists that range from incredibly simple to incredibly complex. Each of the articles is accompanied by numerous photos illustrating each step in the build. The educational value of hearing from other machinists is incredible. If you're into making chips this is the one magazine to scratch that itch.

Make the chips fly
This has lots of great ideas for the guy with a lathe and drill press in the basement. Lots of neat ideas for doing things without a major company to back you. Nice for the guy who wants to turn junk into useful items.

Interesting Magazine for Wannabe Fabricators
I'm new to metal working. I was a finance major with a career in real estate. As I got older (now 66) I developed an interest in metal working and finally purchased some basic tools including a lathe. I'm having a great time learning the basics. This magazine is instructive and a good reference for resources.

Helpful
This magazine is very informative if you come from a minimal matching background.

Uneven content
Too much gunsmithing information for my interests and preference. These sort of magazines alway have the difficult task of satisfying new and long time subscribers, and readers with varying levels of experience. The content of this magazine seems to reflect the current interests of the main contributors, which makes sense, I guess, since they're likely not paying them much. As a result, there were several issues that focused largely on metal scraping, a fairly esoteric practice. I'm not likely to renew my subscription- there are better metalworking resources online at you tube...

Good mix of expert and novice content
Excellent content written for a variety of users. The inclusion of detailed instructions and projects is useful in planning my shop activities. I am looking forward to more of the issues. It is nice to see both fully manual methods and computer controlled techniques.
