Purchased as a gift and my son thought - no way Damascus at this price? He was pleasantly surprised that it met his standards.

Actual Damascus as opposed to some touting to be.

Decent piece of Damascus, Will buy more.
Decent little piece of Damascus, easily workable, no warps or unpleasant twists or warps or anything upon arrival and no cold shuts or tears opened up while forming it more and grinding/cutting into it. Definitely will be buying more. Only real complaint is how impressively long shipping took. It took almost 3 weeks before it was shipped out.

Bad weld
Got the thing shaped into a blade and was grinding the bevel, and uncovered a crack that runs the majority of the way through. Directly on the blade... May be hard to see in the photo, but it's right in the middle of the billet. I bet they stacked two 5" pieces right next to each other and botched the weld.
