Many issues plague this book *spoilers*
About 60% of the story is about Drew and his relationship with himself. Cars, racing, the racing rivalry, the meeting with Mr. Gamble and subsequent career move, street racing, his ego, the magazine shoot, etc. All this stuff that has nothing to do with the actual budding relationship with Trent. Poor Trent, who barely gets mentioned unless he's talking about, thinking about, worrying about, or tagging along with DREW and Drew's life. All we see of Trent's life is how miserable he is while he's finishing his last semester, and the obnoxious dealings with his fraternity dude-bros. The other 40% of this story is decent - the main characters' relationship with each other: the slow coming together of friends to lovers and the super sweet initial intimate scene. But, at the same time it was still all about Drew, and Trent worrying about Drew's feelings, and Drew's complete lack of reciprocal consideration for Trent. Also, I don't appreciate all the cryptic mentions about past situations and family members - since this is the start of a new series I would think the author would let us in on some vital details, especially we haven't read any of the other books. My biggest issue with this book is the ending. I will preface by saying I'm not opposed to cliffhanger endings. But I am totally not cool with endings that scream "author just wants to drag this story into 2 books to make more sales". All this story needed for a HEA was for the hateful bigots to get a royal beat-down, and for the main characters to simply shine on together into the sunset.I am not interested in reading about these characters any further. I probably won't read this author again either.

Keep an open mind
I've been staring at this screen for awhile now trying to figure out exactly how to write this review. How to express what this book made me feel. How to put into words every emotion. How to explain the realization that this book, this story, has profoundly changed the way I look at the world. At relationships. At love.I still haven't figured out quite how to do that but I'm going to try. So bear with me :)I preordered this book because I loved reading the #hashtag series and any chance at a glimpse back into that world I had to take. Then I discovered that this was going to be a m/m book. I've never read a m/m book. I wasn't sure I was going to like reading about a male male relationship. Not because I have any prejudice against relationships of that type. I've always been indifferent. It hasn't affected my life so I've never really given it much thought. I'm definitely thinking now.The way Trent struggled with his feeling for Drew. The way he didn't want to risk losing his best friend. The way he lived his life trying to conform to what society tells us is the "right" way to love. Those things all made me realize that there is no "right" love. There is no difference in the way Trent and Drew love compared to Rome and Rim or B and Ivy's love. Everyone fights their feelings. Everyone doesn't want to lose the person they are closest to. Love is love. There will be no more indifference from me. No judgment. Just acceptance. Everyone deserves to be in a relationship where they are loved. No matter what it looks like. This book has opened my eyes to that. There is enough hate in the world already. Nobody deserves to be hated, or ridiculed, or judged, for loving. Love in whatever form it takes should be celebrated and embraced. This book made me realize all of these things.Never judge a book by its cover. I almost didn't read this book. That would have been a colossal mistake. My life is better for having read this book. The world is a better place for having this book in it. Even if just one persons viewpoint on love is changed it will make a difference.I can't wait for the second book! I'm sure it will be just as great. Just as thought provoking as this one was. Saying I love this book doesn't seem to cover how I feel about this book. It was beyond amazing. 5 stars isn't enough for this book.

5 Huge #Trew Love Stars!
Let me try to sum #Junkie up in a few words. Heartwarming, the "feels", touching... those three things all at once with a side of amazing, heartbreaking, and oh my God, can I have the next book now please. If you can't guess from that last statement. #Junkie by Cambria Hebert is a cliffhanger. However, you won't have to wait long if you want the second book, #Rev, because it will be out in less than a month.Going into this book, I really wasn't sure what to think. On one hand, I anticipated this book so much that I was scared to start it. On the other hand, I dove right into it face first. I was trying to keep an open mind about it. If you follow my blog, you know I'm a huge fan of Ms. Cambria's Hashtag series... Drew and Trent are part of that. So I have a tremendous of love for them going into the book before it even begins. When it was first announced that it would be M/M I was shocked, for sure. I hadn't ever seen them going that way. I figured they would both get their own book. They are Super Bros, after all. I frankly don't think Cambria could have written this better, or in any different way. I loved these boys before, and I love them so much more now. This is not an easy story. It's full of so many life changing things for -both- of these characters. They have to change, and adapt. They realize things about themselves and each other. Honestly, I sat here holding my Kindle to my chest at one point just sobbing, because of the feels. This book is honest. It's about love, regardless of who it is with and what form it is in. Our main heroes have hurdles to overcome, and a twist at the end that I didn't see coming. In this spin-off and new series "GearShark" it's based around a magazine. That is why the covers look like magazine covers. You get to meet some new characters, you get to touch base with old characters that you know and love. You get to see cars that you'll drool over even in text, and you will actually feel the adrenaline right along with the characters. Be prepared to be right on the edge of your seat and not put this book down even once.Do you need to have read anything prior to #Junkie? Nah, it can be a standalone. Though you really might want to meander back and read the books in the Hashtag series too. I love spin-offs and this one is going on the top of my lists.A fast-paced 5 adrenaline junkie #Trew love hearts for this one. I absolutely cannot wait for #Rev!!

Beautiful and heartbreaking all in one.
Im gonna start by saying this is the quickest ive ever written a review, im still reading the authors notes as I waited for this to load. This is my first M/M book and OMG this is with out a doubt one of the most beautiful stories ive read, ive always liked Trent, the quiet one in the background but he always had everyones back. but wow im now completely besotted with him and how he selflessly sacrifice's his own happiness to keep Drew safe, this book had me crying (I had tears in my eyes before id finished reading the prologue), laughing, gasping and holding my breath at times, and Drew wow there is a depth to him I never would have imagined he is still the strong solid guy I thought but he has as many layers as an onion and I love every one of his layers. Their story is beautifully written, their love and possessiveness and the way they want to protect each other shines so brightly, Cambria has written this book with compassion, and class, I didn't know how I would feel reading it as its m/m but wow it has blown me away completely and if im honest I think it might just take over as my fav from Nerd, yep I said it :), I am in awe of this lady she can write about anything and she does it in a way not many authors out there can. Thankyou for writing Drew and Trent's story I cant wait to read the next one. <3

Original and beautifully heartfelt. Bravo!
First off, how utterly superb is that cover? This is likely the first time ever I have bought a book from the cover alone - it's just that darn eye-catching and original. One look and I knew the inside was going to be just as unique. In fact, the writing felt so fresh within a couple of chapters I was already out of the book-funk I'd been finding myself in lately. CH has an impactful, emotion-fuelled voice that portrayed these boys perfectly and gave the prose a crisp, faultless flow. So it was incredibly easy to lose myself in the story, fall head over heels with Trent and Drew and root for them with all my heart. There are plenty of reviews about the story itself so I won't repeat the highs and lows. Just know there's enough emotion to make your heart clutch, enough angst to keep the pages flipping - even as you're slowing down to absorb every word - and several amazing characters who you'd love to meet in real life. And for those of you who hate cliffhangers, I'll say this... It was so well done that although i desperately want the next book in my hands, I wasn't about to throw my kindle off the wall in frustration or anger, feeling I'd been cheated. Because the love was so apparent and heartfelt in the final stages, I believe that though Trent and Drew have a long way to go, when they reach that truly special HEA, their fears will be obliterated and their need and adoration for one another will be eternal. The stuff of dreams.Bravo, Cambria Hebert for this exceptional first foray into MM. I'm mightily impressed!

Okay first of all I love Cambria Herbert and I love her books but I was worried about this book but there was nothing to worry about! This was my first m/m book and I'm hooked,There is no question that Cambria allowed readers to experience a step into m/m romance books, if you've Never experienced one then this is a good stepping stone,Now the actual book....Drew and Trent from the first book when you meet Trent you hav to wonder about him, he as quiet and you think about him, wondering what happens with him, this story gives him his story,Now drew you love him from the moment you meet him, he is sweet an amazing brother! This story is the best in read in 2016! Cambria has done amazing there's not much I can say without giving the book away! But you want to know what happens then buy it! It's totally worth it!I LOVE THIS BOOK! Beautiful, just beautiful!
It took me a long time to convince myself to read this book. Not because I didn't want to, but because I was scared I wasn't going to like it. I knew it was going to be a different genre that I hadn't really read before. I've read every single book of this authors and the hashtag series has by far been my favourite! So anyway I finally decided I wanted to really knuckle down and read this book and I have to say this book was absolutely beautiful. The characters had a friendship that developed into love and just like I did with the hashtag series I fell completely head over heels in love with this book. It just shows that you can't help who you fall in love with weather your same sex or not I truly could not fault the author in how she wrote this book it was utterly captivating.

Gorgeous Love Story
This story is beautiful. It is writing wonderfully and explores two people's journey to finding self acceptance and love.I didn't realise it was a M/M story when I bought it. I am so glad that I did buy it as I loved it.The author describes every emotion Drew and Trent, two best friends feel, as they come to terms with being gay and their feelings of love for each other. And she does it beautifully and in such a way that anyone who has ever been in love with anyone can relate. There is also the fear and uncertainty that comes with anyone not sure if who they are conforms to societies ideals.Great book!
