MUCH Better Than I Expected!
I purchased this windmill to replace an old, rusted, broken one that was identical. The original one was at LEAST 20+ years old, and just fell apart a couple weeks ago. I was happy to be able to find the same one here on Amazon, but the advantage of this one is, it's powder coated, which I believe will lengthen the metal's integrity. If maintained (greased a couple times a year) it should last the same amount of time, if not longer, than the original unit it replaced. It is a very attractive windmill, and works beautifully. It took me a little over an hour to assemble. Some words of assembly advice: A) Make sure you have all the parts listed by laying them out and matching them up to the diagram/list part in the enclosed booklet. B) Assemble it on a towel or blanket during the first part of the assembly where it states to lay it flat, so you can prevent the powder coating from getting scratched. (You will thank me on this years from now, as it will help keep the coating in good shape and prevent rusting longer). C) I used spiral anchor ties - also available on Amazon), in addition to the enclosed stakes to make sure it would stay put in high winds. It would take a tornado to rip them out of the ground! http://www.amazon.com/Camco-42572-Spiral-Anchor-Tie-Out/dp/B000EDUTVS/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1399221821&sr=8-3-fkmr0&keywords=tarp+screw+in+ground+stakesI am a 50+ year old woman, and it wasn't difficult at all to put together, but then again, I love assembling things with lots of pieces! Well worth the price, and I am very happy with this purchase.

Needs improvement!
I wanted a windmill for my garden, so my sweet husband found this one. It was exactly like the one I remember at my grandparents house. I was so happy. Then we set it up, The whole thing is rather flimsy. The cross bars feel like cheap metal and were not very stable. We ended up cementing the feet into the ground, because it kept tipping over. We live in a really windy area, so she was always spinning. One day we went out and the whole fan blade was off. The pin that kept the blade fixed to the frame came off. My husband rigged something that would last for our windy weather. Then one day I looked out and didn't see my beloved windmill spinning. The bearings had broken! Seriously, what's next?! My husband bought some new bearings and since then we have not had any more issues. I gave the product 4 stars, because after we made all the improvements it is finally perfect. I hope this review helps others.

Love this!!!!!
The media could not be loaded. Just what I wanted. Do not forget to Angkor it down. I was not finished , went inside and the wind blew it over. Yes it bent a few of the blades but I was able to fix it it works great!

Instructions
The actual windmill will be very nice when all together - however, the instructions were VERY poor! Bad black and white pictures, NO wording as how to connect things and it was pretty much impossible to tell how things went from the pictures. They were sort of blurry and I had to look at a color picture on the site where I ordered it from to get an idea of how it went together. It took over 5 hours to put together. And that was a lot of guessing and trial and error. Would not recommend it to anyone! Unless they want a huge challenge! NOT easy to assemble at all!

After 4 1/2 years it's still awesome!
I bought this windmill 4 1/2 years ago for my wife's garden. Other than replacing the bearing once due to squeaking it has held up beautifully and looks great. I consider it one of my better gifts for the wife, and she insists she'll take it with her if we move. It's placed in a quarter-acre backyard at the edge of Indianapolis, Indiana and receives enough wind to make it spin like mad. I'm only reviewing it after all this time because I decided to 3D print a small replica of it for the front yard, and realized I hadn't already reviewed it yet.

Well, that didn't last very long...
The media could not be loaded. Mine was well packaged and assembly was pretty easy; the final assembly looks pretty good but I do have some negative feedback to leave. The hardware package was broken, so all the screws, nuts, and washers were bouncing within the package. The screws and fasteners are not stainless steel, so I expect these to rust pretty quick. Some of screws were missing and with only once size screw, the screws at the vein assembly were too short. Several of the nuts included were cross threaded or damaged and were not usable. There was at least one cotter pin, two screws, and one nut missing from the box so I had to run to the local hardware store to buy the missing pieces. An option I might suggest is to get a good amount of #10-32x5/8 stainless steel screws and nuts to use instead of what's supplied. The paint was also scratched in several locations either from packing or during shipping, so if these are steel painted parts (which I believe they are), they will be rusting in time as well. The blades aren't very balanced and in winds as slow as 8mph they wobble pretty badly. It's okay as yard decoration but for the money I did expect a bit better quality, and thus why I'm only giving this 3 stars in my review.*Updated 2/8/16Well, we had some gusting winds and the changing wind directions folded the vein section in half. The material is just too thin to support anything other than a light wind. It was nice while it lasted.
