Bit of a faff to set up but worth it
Worked great..eventually. It was a bit of a faff setting it up with the app but that might just be me being not very tech savvy. It took a few attempts of turning my router on and off but then suddenly worked. Once up and running it was easy to use. Used in my floor lamp.

Works fine with a bit of tweaking.
A bit of initial hassle in setting my router to 2.4ghz from 5ghz but as my router does both I probably didn’t need to start messing but I did it anyway. That was the worst bit as I couldn’t remember my password for my router as I’d changed the default from ‘admin’ at some point. Anyway after rhat two hour irritation I got it working. Just remember when it asks you for the password on the app then it’s you WiFi password first of all and not the app password whatever that might be. Good product all round. Works really well. If you can’t get it to work then it’s something YOU are doing wrong rather than the product being faulty.

What I was looking for
Nice smart light bulb, took a while to set up. Easy to control in the app, lovely to have the option to dim the light. Also happy that it doesn't require a hub to be controlled.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do
I made a through search for SMART candle bulbs. These were the most expensive, that was precisely what I was trying to avoid. After reading the reviews of all the other makes that had far too many 1 and 2 star reviews or needed the purchasing of a hub to make them work, I bit the bullet and bought 2 of these. I'm not one for reading instructions. Pairing bluetooth should be automatic and that is what I expect, and that is what I thought was happening. Maybe I did something wrong. Even so, on the 2nd attempt everything connected, including the 2.4 Mh wifi. The 2 bulbs replaced old fashioned filament types, the last 2 in the house. They were controlled by a dimmer switch. You cannot use a dimmer switch with SMART bulbs, they will flicker on anything less than full power. I will be replacing my dimmer switch asap.. The WIZ app controls the bulbs perfectly. So far I have adjusted the colour and speed of turning on and off. Dimming is very smooth. All the way from zero to 100 per cent and back. The 2 bulbs are paired so they operate in unison. Overall. Very pleased with the bulbs and how they work. I read a professional review of 4lite bulbs they said they were the best of 10 other makes, including Phillip's bulbs, they need a hub. The bulb package is well designed and much bigger than the bulb, gives plenty of room for unexpected crushing. Delivery was early.

Love
I absolutely love these, I control with Alexa primarily but use the app to get extra shades of colour but you can ask Alexa - turn green, red, pink etc and turn them on and off via her too. I love it

Couldn't Connect to WIZ App
Couldn't get the bulb to connect to the WIZ app, which was why I bought it. I have many other WIZ lights and when new and switched on they all just 'showed up' on the app ready for configuration. This bulb, in contrast, was undetectable, despite many attempts to connect automatically and manually, switching on and off etc to get into pairing mode.

Cheap for an edison smart bulb so expected the worse
Thought this would be rubbish as good edison smart bulbs are normally in the £25 range.. If you can find one! This was a piece of cake to connect when many more expensive ones are a nightmare. The bulb is responsive, great colour, looks good and zero problems.. So far Will update this review if it dies after 6 months!

Not all Wiz bulbs are equal
I wanted to use these bulbs for 4 lamps in my conservatory with the intention of using them as a group. I have no issues with the quality of the light, ability to change colour and dimability. Despite having an excellent Wi-Fi signal what was a major issue was the fact that the connection to the wiz app was unpredictable and unreliable and I was constantly having to refresh the app. Using Alexa to switch them on was also equally unpredictable with anything from 2 to 4 of them switching on (and not always the same ones). The 4lite brand is undoubtedly cheaper than Wiz or Philips but I reluctantly resorted to buying the latter to try and resolve the above issues and found that the connection to the app and Alexa was reliable. I do have a tip if you want to use these or any other Wiz bulbs in a group but wish to retain the ability to still turn them off and on individually. Create a group in a room in the Wiz app (in my case I named the room ‘Conservatory Lighting’ , the individual bulbs as ‘Conservatory Lamp 1,2,3 & 4’ and the group ‘Conservatory Lamps’. In the Alexa app I created a room ‘Conservatory’ and put the bulbs in as individual bulbs and also as a group (I also have a pair of Wiz GU10 bulbs which I use as uplighters in the same room which I similarly put in as individual bulbs (conservatory uplighter 1& 2 and their own group (conservatory uplighters). In this way I can turn all lights on by saying ‘Alexa turn on Conservatory lighting’, the two groups independently by saying ‘Alexa turn on Conservatory Lamps’ or ‘Alexa turn on Conservatory Uplighters’ or the individual bulbs by saying ‘Alexa turn on Conservatory Lamp 1’ etc. This level of function cannot be achieved just by using the Wiz app alone (once a group is created you cannot control bulbs within that group independently unless you ungroup them. I appreciate that this is probably unnecessarily nerdy for most people but there is a certain sense of satisfaction and a level of practicality to be had by being able to achieve this. One last piece of advise is to think carefully how you name individual bulbs, groups and rooms (Alexa won’t be able to differentiate ‘All’ from ‘Hall’).
