This is a beautifully designed and hand-crafted vessel that is perfectly balanced for ease of handling to brew and to serve tea.Tea connoisseurs often brew the tea right in the gaiwan although it may also be used conventionally as a tea cup.

Beautiful, Minimal, with a Wonderful Lustre
Liked them so much, I just bought another set! These teacups are beautiful in a minimalist way and have a wonderful subdued lustre to them. They are the opposite of the gaudy teacups I normally see offered for sale. They are low, rest on 4 small feet and are perfect for Asian tea services where the portions are small. I plan to use mine to hold condiments as well as to serve small appetizers to my guests. Note: these are small and only hold a few ozs.

Love these small tea cups
Exactly what I was hoping for. Shallow cups that cool hot tea for drinking quickly. The glazing is beautiful and I was happy that they didn't match so I got one of each style. They're durable with thick sides.
