Little Owl's Day Review: Another Fantastic Little Owl Book for Our Children's Library! - My three-year-old twins love the Little Owl books so when we heard Little Owl's Day during story time, I knew we would be adding it to our library! At the time, the board book edition was not available and, since my kids are still in the slightly destructive, toddler age, I decided to wait for it. I'm so glad we did because it has already been a hit in our household! If you are familiar with Little Owl's Night, the board book version is printed in a similar style. They both have the same number of pages and the books are also the same size so they look nice on a bookshelf together. This book is also printed on thick, durable pages that are perfect for the toddler era. The story in this book is really great for kids and makes it fairly easy for them to understand. Each page has a couple sentences so it's not too much and not too little of a story. Little Owl's Day is the story of Little Owl and the animals he sees during the day. He normally isn't awake during the day but he is woken up by a noisy squirrel and can't go back to sleep. He decides to explore his surroundings and see all of the animals who are sleeping at night when he is awake. Some of the same animals in Little Owl's Night appear in this book so children get to see what those animals do during the day. I think Little Owl's Day is a wonderful book for young children and, if they like Little Owl's Night, they will most likely enjoy this one as well. My kids already love it and we like to read both before bedtime. Little Owl's Day isn't necessarily a bedtime book but the story ends at nighttime so you can definitely use this for bedtime. If you read Little Owl's Day and Little Owl's Night one after the other, they will help paint a picture for children about what Little Owl does during the cycle of the day. We often read these books before bedtime and I see us enjoying this one for a long time. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a good book for a young child! Review: Great book! - Cute book, loved the pictures!

Everything I was hoping for!
We had little owls night and it was a bedtime staple so for her 2nd birthday I got my daughter this one to add to her bedtime routine. She now insists we read them one after another and always both. Where little owls night is mostly black background, little owls day is mostly white background. The story is about discovering what the forest is like during the day and sharing the experience with little owls friends. The illustrations are in the same style and the reading level is the same as the first book. It could be bought and used without the other book but they also tie in nicely together. The construction of the book is sturdy and the colors don't fade. Overall this and little owls night are two of her top 5 favorites and we have ALOT of books.

i am an avid reader, and am always anticipating the release of a new book by my favorite authors. i think this is the first time i have ever anticipated the release of a board book, probably more than the new Harry Potter book even. my daughter loves little owl, we have read little owls night so much we have gone through two copies and if we one day could not find it i think the world might stop spinning. to say i was tired of reading is an understatement, i have it memorized, my 2 year old has it memorized, the dog has it memorized, so i was so happy to see a new little owl book. its super cute and bright, with new animals, and my daughter loves it just as much. thankfully since buying this my daughter likes to branch off a little more, so I'm not reading it 12 times a day, but it has definitely been loved.

Beautiful!
I absolutely love Divya Srinivasan's illustrations! We purchased this after "Little Owl's Night" was such a hit with our 1.5 year old. We're always on the lookout for books that he loves, AND that we enjoy reading with him (there are some very annoying kids books out there, that I shamefully admit I don't want to read when my toddler brings them to me). I'll happy read Little Owl's Day over and over again, though - the illustrations are lovely, and the story is easy to read (or make up your own as you flip through the pages). The only thing I would change is to make this available in a board book for the littler readers! Our son has already torn some pages through exuberant handling.

We're so in love.
You can't go wrong with anything by this author. Little Owl's Night & Octopus Alone have been my almost-4 yr old son's favorites for years. Little Owl's Day was such a satisfying follow-up with some very sweet surprises throughout. The art is dreamy & her style of writing us unique. She doesn't dumb anything down, which only helps to expand his imagination & understanding of language. We just started a new preschool & noticed they had Little Owl's Night on the shelves, so we bought another copy of Little Owl's Day as a gift to the class. We can't wait for her next release!

Little Owl, big fun!
My husband and I have made a whole production out of Little Owls Night (sound effects, singing, even a hue bulb light show!) which I bought on a whim when I saw it randomly in a grocery store. I was so excited to find there are more Little Owl books! We have fun with this one too. I plan to get my daughter the others in the set eventually as well :)

A really sweet book. My 5year old loved Little Owl’s Night, this is very similar except it has a genuinely moving moment at the climax. So the books are apparently getting better!
