Warning
This book contains psychic hazards that generate even more psychic hazards while you aren’t paying attention. Your roommates will think you’re weird, your life might go completely haywire, and you’ll tell people that don’t want to hear about it things that only you understand, and only until you try to tell those people, at which point you sound like a blithering fool and will need a new copy of this book after giving it to someone who will never return it in hopes you forget about it entirely and go back to being normal. Highly recommend.

A book of truths?
Peter J. Carroll is probably the most inteligent writer in the occult genere. This book is no exception. It reads like a breeze until the last chapters which lean more towards physics and require a little more from the reader. But for the most part the book is a series of insights on all things magick and the way of the wizard with a couple exercisess and a couple rituals. A small criticism has to be made of the illustrations on the kindle version which are very small and the "enlarge" function does nothing for them. Other than that the old Pope Pete delivers as usual.

Just do it!
If you're like many people I know and you somehow endup reading this review despite being largely skeptical, my advice would be to attempt to convince yourself the name of this book is Advanced Ideas In Chaos Science. This would simply be to immediately dissociate it from "occultism"... Even if after doing this you do succeed in making the purchase (had you not already) you can simply skip the first whole section of this book, because the price you pay is ABSOLUTELY worth the rest of it.In the end if nothing else Carroll offers a believable well thought out alternative to so called modern and contemporary 'physics' theories; that many so called mainstream scientists would simply never even contemplate abandoning. For me this is THE BOOK to start with, then you can move on to his more recent works as you please.Bottom Line: Open Mindedness is priceless.

It's a Heptapus!
This book was like mental breakfast for me; most important meal of the day! Wake up, get coffee, read some of Peter J. Carroll's brilliant mind babies, and go about my day vibrant with Chaotic zeal and curiostiy. I love the Liber 333 throwback, it felt good to have a Crowley twinge on a Chaoist's thoughts.

A little too much psyber, not enough fiber...
Well, what can I say?I do not wish to offend endeared fans of Carroll. I liked Kaos and Null. This book seems to read as if The Author wrote it in Theta Trance, possibly while slightly intoxicated by a Substance. That's not to say his writings aren't coherent. They just happen to not relate to anyone outside the HOGD.While reading, I felt like I was 15, listening to adults talk about politics, sexuality, physics, and whatnot--familiar subjects, but I didn't have depth of conceptual or experiential understanding to make the writer-reader conversation worthwhile to me.This is unfortunate. I really thought I was going to be in for a treat.Well. Maybe you "just had to be there" to appreciate this conversation.Worth a read, if you ever want practice at experiencing the sensation of being out of your Clearance Rank.

Esoterrific
A concise depth of fascinating notions and curious perspectives can be found in this darkly enlightening book. I've been re-reading it for weeks. Rumination definately required. - I must say I'm more of a philosopher than a wizard, although my beard is getting longer by the day. Chaoism - with its peculiar angles - is thought-provoking if nothing else.
