Love the thickness and quality of paper.
Great sketchbook as it takes ink and pencil and charcoal easily though I’d use fixative on the charcoal. I haven’t tried conte sticks on it or pastel pencils but I think they would be fine if you are not looking for layers. It’s a mostly smooth paper which works great for the ink, pencil, and charcoal. I have seen Aaron Blaise use watercolor on it in light washes and it took it well. To see this paper in action look up you tube video of a live stream video he recorded of an owl he drew. I saw the paper then and bought the only two sizes they make. Love both and wished they had made other sizes.

Love this for watercolor & gouache
Im really enjoying the size and craftsmanship of this sketch book. I am taking a Nathan Fowkes class on Landscape sketching with watercolor and gouache and he recommends getting extra thick craft paper to work on. I really wanted to avoid having to make my own book out of loose paper so I searched many different options. I'm really happy with how wet I can get this beautiful paper. Also it's just so smooth and nice to work on. My artist tape releases easily from this surface. I can't wait to try different techniques with color and layering to work with the papers mid tones. It's great with graphite ink and charcoal. I think this paper could handle anything. I'm going to try a gesso and oil painting study next.

Five Stars
Works great for watercolor sketching, but too much water does affect the paper.
