Indole-3-Carbinol, 200 mg, 60 Vegetable Capsules

First of all, it smells bad, but it’s supposed to. If it doesn’t , then you need to be concerned about what’s in the pill. Just want to address those who wrote about the smell.I took almost a year to write this review. I started using this, because I have estrogen dominance. It caused a cyst on one of my breasts. (Estrogen dominance causes cysts, fibroids, Brest cancer etc). It was shooting pain. Since I started taking this I saw a difference within a month. The cyst stopped being painful, and shrank in size. But you have to have a protocol in place.Indole 3 carbinol should be taken with vitamin C.You have to make sure you are consuming enough iodine. (Lack of iodine is also linked to estrogen dominance and can caused problems I mentioned above). I experimented with my iodine intake and now take 250 mcg of kelp iodine daily.I take a multivitamin, because you need co-factors for iodine and you need nutrients for liver function.Let’s talk about liver. Estrogen dominance happens because your liver has a hard time getting rid of “bad” estrogen out of your body. This is why you get PMS. So I got liver support supplement.I also added vitamin D,Quercetin and zinc.CoQ10And also I stopped wearing a bra, and no longer use antiperspirant. I use natural deodorant instead. All of this helped me shrink the cyst to the point I can’t feel it anymore. PMS is almost fully gone too. I don’t get much cramps, my breast don’t get swollen. But I still get a headache around those days, and may be a tad more emotional. But it’s still a huge difference.Hope it helps someone. Do your research! Find a good doctor who understands functional medicine and knows biochemistry better than a typical doctor.And don’t forget that being active is important too!

When you take a handful of vitamins and supplements like I do everyday, these being tiny are wonderful! I wish all manufacturers would reduce the size of their tablets and capsules. I’m doubtful the tablets that are the size of horse pills are 100% active ingredients. There’s likely an excess amount of filler. Don’t you bet? That’s my opinion anyway. Centrum and Caltrate have also developed tiny tablets!! Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!

Yes, it smells like rotting vegetables and mothballs, but that's actually what indoles smell like and judging from the size of the 200mg capsule vs othet brands of the same dose, there probably aren't a lot of fillers diluting it. Just hold your nose and swallow the darned thing. It doesn't make YOU smell like that.Anyway, I bought this because I heard it was helpful for cyclical breast tenderness which in recent months has gotten really bad around my period. I started out taking 2 caps and by my next period, there was almost zero pain. Now I just take 1 cap and I still have no pain! It's a freaking miracle as I tried other things touted to help improve this including borage seed oil and evening primrose oil without much effect. I'll keep taking this as it's also suposed to lower the risk for estrogen sensitive cancers.

I waited a month to write this.Since 2017, my forehead has broke out in cystic acne during ovulation and my period. The kind that leaves scars and no topical product can help. I tried every face wash and medicated pad! After tracking my breakouts I decided to address the root cause: hormonal imbalance.I did not break out at all this cycle. My face is the clearest it has been in years. No side effects, very small pill, and no weird smell I read about in other reviews. I’m not a doctor, but this works for me.

I've used this brand for some time with no concern. However, the last order the capsules were dark brown and brittle as if perhaps they had been exposed to hot temperatures. My most recent lab results had also made a noticeable change to the negative. I will be switching to Thorne.Update: I contacted the company about the color change and they attributed it to possible exposure to humid conditions. The replaced the product and I have since purchased more. These have all looked correct. I recommend contacting the company through amazon as quickly as possible whenever there is doubt!Update: September 18, 2023 I ordered 4 bottles and all looked good except one in which the capsules were dark brown again. They were all shipped together and did not sit outside in the heat upon delivery. I like the size of these capsule and so I would hate to have to make a change if this happens regularly. I added a photo to show the color difference in the capsules from the defective bottle compared to the other 3 bottles.

I tried another brand of indole carbinol 3 and it was hard to take. Both the scent and taste of that other brand made me gag. This advanced physicians formula does not have a terrible scent or taste to it, so it is more agreeable with my system. I can handle this brand as it does not cause any gastric upsets either. I'm so glad I tried it!

The first ones I took years ago had an awful bitter after taste but these are the same kind just better & smaller. Prescribed to me by my oncologist/gynecologist.

The smell is normal of this type of vitamin. If it doesn’t smell bad it’s not going to work. Started using this because it was cheaper than my original brand. Pain on my left Ovary, Which was gone with previous brand, came back after two weeks on this brand. The company is absolutely fantastic they refunded my money it was super Duper easy great customer service.
