I picked up this 5-pack of PNY 64GB drives mainly for everyday use - transferring files between computers, making backups, and setting up bootable installers. They’re compact, well-built, and have a smooth sliding design that protects the connector without needing a cap (which I always end up losing). At this price point I can give them away without thinking twice. I ran a quick benchmark on my Mac (Apple M4) and got the following results: Sequential Read: ~135 MB/s Sequential Write: ~32 MB/s Random Read: ~6.3 MB/s Random Write: ~0.04 MB/s For thumb drives like these you won't be editing files on it - it's mostly for transferring, so sequential read/write performances is more relevant. It's right in line with what I’d expect for USB 3.2 Gen 1 drives in this price range. Real-world file transfers also feel quick and consistent. I picked these up to keep on hand for quick carry of large presentations and the like without worry about where I put "that one drive" last time. These are well constructed, easy to handle, and seem to be protective of the USB-A connector. The transfer speed was quick -- quicker than expected at the price point and allowed me to transfer all my files without issue, even large numbers of small files moved smoothly. I haven't seen any data loss or corruption, not that I expected any, but time will tell the full tale. I appreciate a flash drive that fits well in the USB socket without issue -- even when it's invariably upside down as all USB-A connectors seem to be! Finally, the drive does heat up, as I expected, but the casing makes the heat very tolerable right after transfer. I don't think this is a 'hot' drive, in fact it's a cool tool in my go bag. 5/5

This card tested to the size it was rated. Good quality. Reliable. The seller is Amazon so I felt better about buying this item and I'm glad I did. It's much faster than any of my other thumb drives! Buy with confidence!!!

Good for long term storage but a pretty slow write speed. Perfect for long term, large file storage, but would be irritating to use daily.

A few months in and significant usage, plug in and out and works fantastic, just as expected.

PNY is a reputable brand and buying it from Amazon we were sure it was a legitimate PNY and not some cheap clone. If you buy things like this on Ebay or some other places, you very likely will get a fake. Many of those fail quickly or don't even have the stated capacity or anywhere near it. Those cheap clones are not worth the 'savings', they're junk. This was also a decent price for the size of the drive, 256 GB, and to be sure of getting a legitimate one.

As flash memory prices continue to become out of reach for many, it was nice to see a value priced flash drive but please be aware, that this USB flash-drive does not benchmark ANYWHERE near a typical USB 3.2 flash drive made by say, SanDisk or Samsung. Transfer speeds are slowww. Speeds writing to the drive are unstable and fluctuate between 1-2 MB/s and 25 MB/s and the speed drops and rises continuously. In other words it takes forever for a write process to complete if you are putting any large files on the drive that are multi-gig. It's made of plastic, of course, as is typical for most flash drives in this range and does have a sleeve that makes it somewhat retractable. In size I would venture to say it is a little smaller than a Bic lighter. Formatting comes in FAT32 and is relatively easy to format to whatever you need. I formatted it to NTFS using Niubi partitioner thinking that maybe this would help improve speeds as believe it or not, I have had experiences with format affecting speed on previous drives but nope, this did not help improve the transfer/write speeds for this PNY. This is a little concerning out of the packaging considering that if it's so variable in writing speeds; what does the read speed look like in real time if I have it, say, plugged into a digital media player or TV? This should especially be concerning if you plan to use it for 4K video. It may be okay for storage, but time will tell. Granted I am using this to send some old home videos I have converted to a family member to play back on their TV and hopefully it suits it's purpose for that task without any buffer or speed issues, but if I were absolutely serious about quality for the long term and transfer speeds, I would probably aim higher in terms of cost and reliability (if you can). This drive, at least where it comes to write speeds, behaves more like it's somewhere between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 speeds. It certainly hits nowhere near 130 MB/s. Conclusion and should I recommend? Well, that depends on what you are using it for I suppose. It would probably be okay for music and photos, but video playback I would be concerned with just given how slow the speeds are writing to it, especially 4K video. Again if it's slow to write to this leaves the read speed questionable. Buy at your own risk knowing this is a possibility. You get what you pay for in 2026.

Reasonably priced flash drive. Performance is as expected.

Excellent read speed, iffy write speed. But by far the best I've tried at this sort of price if you buy the 5 pack. Put it this way, the comparable priced USB 3.2 ones I bought direct from China worked at 1/4 the speed (EEK). I get 120 MB/s which is pretty close to the claimed speed, so I'm happy. I'd post a Crystaldisk picture, but I use Linux so don't have that pretty app.

Après m’être trompé en commandant une clé USB de 256 Go, j’ai refait une commande avec un lot de 5 clés USB. Attention au prix : les modèles 64 Go étaient en réalité un peu moins chers que les 32 Go, même si les descriptions ne sont pas très claires. Le vendeur, en revanche, est sérieux. J’ai voulu tester les performances pour confirmer la vitesse annoncée. Globalement, je recommande ces clés USB. Même si nous n’avons pas toujours de ports USB Type‑A en 3.2, cela assure tout de même un bon débit moyen. J’ai mesuré environ 136 Mo/s en lecture et jusqu’à 64 Mo/s en écriture, ce qui reste correct pour transférer de gros fichiers. En revanche, la norme 3.2 ne semble pas vraiment exploitée. Pour comparer, j’ai testé une autre clé USB 64 Go en USB 3.0 mais de meilleure qualité : elle atteint 269 Mo/s en lecture et 194 Mo/s en écriture, soit des performances bien supérieures. Ici, c’est clairement le rapport qualité‑prix qui compense les performances plus modestes.
