Louisiana Base Gumbo, 5 Oz

Make my gumbo taste good, seafood and chicken gumbo! I add it differently tho I add it after I boil and season my chicken and other ingredients but before I add in my crab. I mix in my mixer with cool water so I have no clumps then poor in my gumbo to simmer

My husband is from Lousiana and I went to college there. We LOVE a good gumbo! But with school and work I rarely have time for making roux and cooking it slow "the right way". So when I want an easy, weeknight gumbo I make it in the crockpot with this mix and it gets the job done. I mix the packet and water, and add andouille, frozen okra, onion, pepper and chicken thighs or drumsticks, and Tony's. Then it just simmers all day in the crockpot. When we get home, I remove the chicken, take out the bones & shred the meat. If I have them, I'll add peeled shrimp right at the end too. Just don't tell my mother-in-law I make it this way sometimes lol!!!

If you haven’t tried it then you can’t relate!! It’s literally all purpose gravy in my house lol!! Just buy it and see what I mean! Delicious!!!

This is an excellent gumbo base, and I will buy it again. I really like the fact that it doesn't include the rice. I like to prepare rice on the side and add it to my gumbo in the quantity I prefer. Seasonings are well proportioned and offer a nice Cajun taste. I added sausage and chicken to mine.

Well I had white rice and I ate like it was the last SupperNo but get it to add robust flavor to your dish but make sure you taste as you go because I did add other seasonings!!
