Mr.Power Music Fret Wire Sanding Set

I bought this to level out a few high frets on a kit guitar I put together. It was much more economical than buying a professional fret crowning tool....have you seen the price of those? Anyway, it works as intended & actually not only grinds the fret wire down but smooths & rounds it over at the same time. Once completed, I finished the job w/ a touch of Brasso metal polish & a rub of ultra fine steel wool. Speaking as a hobbyist/amateur & not as a professional luthier, the results were more than satisfying. The caveat is I would like to purchase a replacement stone but I haven't been able to locate one. The stone is soft enough such that the frets actually wear grooves into it so its not going to last too long.

It is essentially a heavy duty nail file. I was pretty underwhelmed by the product. It would be better to spend about 4 bucks more and get something more effective and lasting. Swing and a miss Mr Power Music

Did the trick to remove fret buzz from my son's cheap Epiphone. Great tool to have.

I knew ahead of time this wasn't a professional fret file. It does it's purpose for the two frets I needed worked on. It served it's purpose.

I've used this on 3 differing guitars, fantastic tool!

Old school fret crowning means you decide the profile rather than the tool.So once you level your frets you need to crown them for correct intonation at each fret.The fret board protectors are superb, no need to mask off. I would not recommend using this to get the scratches out from levelling as it could take to much off.

Worth while for the fingerboard protector, but be wary of the sanding stone. It's pretty rough, and will take your frets down in a flash!
