VERY thin but strong
This material is very thin and so is hard to write on because there's not enough solid material to keep the ink from going through to what's underneath. Keep that in mind if you're using a marker to transfer pattern info. The marker will leave ink on what's underneath the tracing material. I still rated this 5 stars, because I knew what it was when I bought it. Even though it is very thin, the material is strong enough to make mock-ups and test fit the pattern pieces without the bulk of thicker tracing material.

The pattern tracing material works well for tracing pattern.
The pattern tracing material was much thinner than the Do-Sew that I was use to using,I wish that it was still on the market have not been able to find it I was hoping that this tracing material by Nancy Notion was the same it is not ,but it work as for as tracing a pattern.

Good stuff for making your own patterns- not very easy ...
Good stuff for making your own patterns- not very easy to tear but can see easily through it! You can not iron it though- I ended up getting it a little crinkled by toting it around and then tried to iron- you have to warm iron it or use a wet towel. Worked really well though!

Easy to visualize even the tiniest details through the tracing ...
There were no reviews when I purchased this product, so I went by the photos and description provided by the seller. The thing that drew me to this tracing paper specifically was their photo of how transparent the paper was. I was also looking for something with some drape in hopes that the tracing paper could replace making a muslin. The description also states that the tracing paper material will cling to fabric and help eliminate the need for excessive pinning.Pros:Very translucent. Easy to visualize even the tiniest details through the tracing paper.Great drape.Cons:Almost too lightweight. While it may cling slightly to fabric, it slid frequently on my pattern and made it very difficult to trace grainlines, etc.Once my tracing was completed, I had difficulty seeing the markings I had made on the tracing paper because of how lightweight the material was.Overall, probably best for projects that don't require you to be incredibly exact with your tracing. I do love how easily you can see through the material and how flexible it is though. Very quick shipping.

New Favorite Staple Item!
This stuff is my new favorite sewing staple! It is perfect! I typically buy my patterns online, which means I have to print 500 pages and glue them together to get my pattern. Before I was using muslin to trace the pattern pieces because then I could just lay the muslin piece on my fabric to be cut and it wouldn't need pins. But it's really hard to see through muslin to trace each piece (not to mention the 4.99 a yard price). So a friend recommended this tracing material to me and it worked perfect. Best of both worlds! It sticks to the fabric to cut it out, and it's as see through as the tracing paper. Also they store very nicely too, so I can reuse the pieces without them falling apart like the tracing paper does.Word of advice: Don't iron on high!! If you need to iron it (which you will need to iron out the creases from the packaging) make sure you do this on a very low iron setting... It will melt the material.. :)

Thin, flimsy and difficult to use
II tried using this stuff. It comes wrinkled. In order to accurately trace a pattern off the product has to be free of wrinkles. I tried pressing it before tracing a pattern off.. It is very thin and flimsy and the iron has to be kept at such a low heat that getting wrinkles out is difficult. Just a little steam and it shrinks up so badly you have to toss that piece. If you do manage to trace a pattern off, and stitch it together for fittings any sewer knows you have to press seams open and darts flat so you can do an accurate fitting. It fails again here because of the low heat factor. It's almost impossible to press seams and darts flat. so your fitting isn't accurate. Stiff, unyielding, doesn't drape or bend and tears easily during pin fitting. I'm an experienced sewer and have used similar products for years. to trace, stitch, pin and test garments, then used the test garment to further refine fitting. This is not possible with this stuff. This was a huge disappointment, I won't be purchasing again. Don't waste your money.

Durable pattern material..The best stuff ever to use
I love this material for making my own sewing patterns, pins nicely and flexible much like a very thin felt like material, doesnt tear easily and last years to reuse patterns over and over again..still can see thru it to copy old patterns onto a more durable material..I've used this for over 6yrs now and needed more,my 4 stars was cause it didn't come on the bolt like I usually buy it,would be 5 stars if it came on a bolt to keep it wrinkle free and easier to work with..Otherwise I highly suggest this for pattern making, comes in 10yrds so lasts a long time,my last bolt lasted 5yrs,depending on size of patterns your making of coarse

Great way to share expensive patterns you buy with friends and family.
Easy to work with and lightly stays put on my chiffons and knits. No more cutting up store bought patterns which cost a fortune! I lay this on top of the pattern and write everything the pattern says on this paper and there ya have it. A permanent pattern you can mark for Your needs and never even cut the paper pattern you bought so it's now a part of your sewing library. I made a beautiful classic skirt and a friend loved it so I used this pattern material to make her a copy of my pattern in Her size for her to keep and tailor for a perfect fit too.I love that I can experiment with a tailoring idea I have by actually pinning it together and trying it on. Get the fit you need BEFORE you cut that expensive fabric you bought. To anyone trying to picture the texture of this it's Exactly like fabric softener dryer sheets.
