Not all that was advertised.
There was no phone number or address to take advantage of the "Lifetime Warranty" advertised. So those words are meaningless, just a hook to get you to buy. My luck it will last a month and then I'm out 21 dollars and change. My own fault for not doing research on the product,, or seller. Also no dated paid invoice in the delivery,,,,,,,,,, wonder why?

Mixed results
The sensor did not work at any regular plug-in outlet. Tried it on several live outlets, never detected live power. It did however work as described for live insulated wire in exposed basement area and even on cords for lamps, appliances.

I never had to stick the tip of the detector into the receptacle to get a reading like I did with yours
I have been using voltage detectors similar to yours for 25 years. I have used one brand only and decided to try yours. The price on yours was right,so I thought I would try it. I am not sure if it was defective or if that was just the way it worked. With my last detector the sensitivity was much higher. I never had to stick the tip of the detector into the receptacle to get a reading like I did with yours. and sometimes yours it worked and sometime it did not. Also I tested yours compared to my old detector on thicker coated wire and yours would not detect the electricity, where my old one would. The trouble with my old one was that it only lasted a couple of years and was higher priced. I was hoping that yours would be better.

Not a Fluke but does work
Having had a fluke non contact voltage detector before this one. This isn't the quality or reliability of the fluke detector. With that said it does work on cables the one I recieved would not work in an outlet. For half the price its okay. I will keep it for a back up or loaner if someone wants to borrow one.

So I pulled out my new voltage tester and it worked like a charm
It took a little bit to get the nerve to wire in a new light switch timer cause this time I needed to know which was the hot wire. So I pulled out my new voltage tester and it worked like a charm. It couldn't have been any easier. Thanks to Grafton Tools, this will not be the last time I use this great tool. Thank you!

It makes doing electric jobs easier and safer
This device is invaluable when you are working with electric lines (either regular power cords or Romex-style lines), you need to know if the line is live and you don't have ready access to a device or receptacle. You can get an immediate clear indication (glow) when power is present. I always want one with me on electric jobs.

Iffy
Battery end piece broke putting batteries in. Re-soldered it onto board & it's working now

review
It seems like I need to be much closer to the live circuit than my previous testers.
