AR-270-2m/70cm Dual Band Base Antenna, Ringo. Now w/ 3 Yr Warranty

I had an AR-270 back in the early 1990's.. I bought it due to its compact size. At the time I was renting a house and did not want to push the limits when the house owner said I could put an antenna on the roof. It worked great back then as a new ham operator. I had the AR-270 attached to a $25 dollar ham-fest; flea-market 2 meter radio. A friend called to alert me to the fact that the Russian space ship "MIR" was going overhead in the next few minutes. With no real expectations...I tuned into the frequency and sure enough, I heard him calling out and numerous people trying to get in a quick QSO with him. I gave a couple call-outs and...what?!?! He replied! I talked to a spaceship (U4MIR) with my little AR-270 which was no more than 10' above the roof. Well, here I am decades later renting an apartment and looking for an antenna that will not offend the landlord or the neighbors. There was no hesitation to buy another one.
