Pretty good, but don't recommend for male dogs
I bought this for my new puppy, who is potty training. He was going in the house nonstop. The first night, there were 5+ accidents. I couldn't keep up. It was exhausting going behind him cleaning up messes, and it was distracting me from getting other things done. Not to mention my two fosters are potty training too. I could NOT have three dogs having accidents around my house all day.The first thing that encouraged me to buy was the price. Less than $8 for two washable diapers was the best deal I had found up to that point. I loved that buying it as an add on made it that cheaper price. The other diapers online I've seen charge WAY too much. There is no reason to charge $20 for a 2 or 3 pack of diapers, even if it is washable. For those potty training and not just using for slight leaks, this is not financially helpful. These diapers were a good starter pack for me while I waited for some male wraps in the mail. I wasn't sure which would work better, so I bought these and the wraps. I was hoping these alone would be sufficient, but unfortunately they're not. On their own, these aren't absorbent almost at all. There is pretty much no padding, so you should buy a good absorbent liner to insert into it, or use menstrual pads. I also want to note that these really aren't made for males. The waistband on the small size I bought did not cover my dog completely, and I was actually a little concerned it would irritate the area. However, I think just wearing it discouraged him from pottying in the house sometimes, but there were definitely still accidents. I'm not sure why companies are not making these longer on the abdominal side of the diaper, since they have a lot of potential to help male dogs if they did. I would definitely buy a version of this that is updated to those specifications. For females, I think this would work pretty good, as long as you put a good absorbent liner or pad inside it. The elastic is comfortable on my dogs and does not squeeze too tightly. Velcro also work well and stays put. The diaper itself stays on the dog securely. Never had an issue with falling off, and the tail slot is a nice touch, as long as your dog tolerates you putting their tail through it. Made of very soft, comfortable material as well. Wish they came in more colors too, but these are cute.Overall a nice little diaper, but would not recommend for male dogs. I only use mine as back ups for the dogs now, when I'm washing their EZ Whelp wraps.

Good solution for older puppy
Our toy poodle has 17 1/2 years of experience in being a puppy. As a result of her age, she is having more pee-pee accidents lately, while her people are at work. I purchased this 2-pack of cover-ups, size Small. We use Carefree panty shields as an absorbent liner, and this system works wonderfully well. For size small, a regular maxi-pad would be way too long; the panty shield provides perfect coverage of the panties. I'm sure a regular maxi would be more appropriate in larger sizes. These panties require putting Brandy's tail through the opening, then pulling the sides up from her belly and attaching the two velcro tabs on her back.Brandy doesn't seem to mind wearing her cover-ups after we get them on, so they must be pretty comfy, but some days she is less than cooperative in letting me put her tail into the opening. But since she has hip displasia & some arthritis, this is often easier than if we had to put her hind legs into openings. I also have to be careful and check the fit carefully when I get the cover-ups on, as it is easy (with all her fur) to bind her leg joint. But if I pay attention, and check her when I get them fastened, it is easy & quick to make any needed adjustments.Size info: Brandy weighs about 6 3/4 pounds, and has a small waist. I ordered Small based on previous reviews (especially the reviews on the XS ordering page), and they fit perfectly. Ordering one size up worked for us. The available velcro area is fairly wide, so any given size will have lots of lee-way in fit. These panties are very effective for pee-pee accidents, but definitely, the cover-up product is only for little girl dogs; boy dogs should use a wrap. I can't speak to the product's effectiveness for poop accidents, as that has not been tested at our house, thankfully. They would also work extremely well for when a little girl is in heat.I generally hand wash the soiled cover-ups in the bathroom sink. But they take several hours to air-dry. I did put one pair in the washing machine & dryer (in a mesh lingerie bag), with success, though they picked up some lint in that process, but it wasn't bad. I will certainly machine wash again in the future. Be advised that the purple color does run the first few times it is washed, so sort accordingly. We also have Petego Hot Pants for the same purposeΒ Petego Hot Pants Dog Panties, Small, 10 Inches . The Petego Hot Pants are definitely cuter, though both products work well. Petego Hot Pants require putting her hind legs into openings to get them on.

Great! The pet store charges $15 per diaper for ...
Great! The pet store charges $15 per diaper for a house brand version of these *identical* diapers. There's also another company that makes a more expensive denim version of doggy diapers like this. The advantage in that brand (for us) is that there is no elastic around the tail, but the orientation of the velcro results in the sharp side sticking out, which ****will ruin polyester shirts**** - that does not happen with this brand as the soft, non-snarring side faces outward. If you want the poop to fall out of this brand diaper like it does with the blue denim ones, just cut out the elastic around the tail area! This is *very* easy to do with a box cutter or exacto knife. The other benefit of this brand (again, in my opinion) is that the pads/liners you put inside stick way, way better to this fabric than they do to the jersey-like liner the other brand uses.On a side note, if you are using these as an alternative to potty training and don't want poop to get stuck in the diaper, cut open the circle around the tail opening, and then cut the elastic out. This will let the poop fall out while still catching the liquids. In fact the manufacruter not offering this as an option from the store is the only reason why I'm dinging them a star. They're perfect when you cut the elastic out. Also, medium size incontinence pads work GREAT if you are using these because your dog isn't house broken. We get generic Walgreens brand ones for about $10 per 66 count. Liners are great if you're using these for when your female dog bleeds, but you need incontinence pads if you are using these to stop peeing indoors.
