2009 two CD collection from the Disco/Dance/R&B diva. In late 1987, native New Yorker Joyce Sims unleashed a monster club anthem in the shape of her mesmeric self-penned groove ballad, 'Come Into My Life.' Produced by Kurtis Mantronik, the song became a huge global hit, reaching the Top 10 in both the UK and U.S. charts. This collection chronicles the singer/songwriter's all-too-brief moment in the spotlight and includes the UK hits 'All And All,' 'Lifetime Love' and 'Looking for a Love' as well as a raft of dance floor remixes. 26 tracks. Music Club Deluxe.

Joyce Sims is a great talent
I have an eclectic taste in music. I listen to old school and modern music. Dance, Rap, R&B, Pop, Metal, Rock & Roll and Punk Rock are a few genres I listen to.The songs featured on this collection are some of the best Dance - R&B fused songs released over the past 25 years. It's actually has been nearly 25 years since Come Into My Life has first been released. I think these songs stand up very well. It's often the production and the mixing that makes a song last and sound as fresh as the day it was first heard.Joyce Sims, is a great talent. Her vocals have range and depth. All And All, is definitely a classic. Lifetime Love, I Surrender and Take Caution With My Heart, highlight this collection. The second disc of remixes are great and do not detract from the originals.

A Very Welcome Release
This collection manages to very succintly provide an overview of the most commercially creative period for Joyce Sims, which stemmed from one of her demo tapes reaching the ears of studio engineer Robbie Watson, who went on to draw her talents to the attention of Arthur Russell, William Socolov and Juggy Gales, the founders of New York's 'Sleeping Bag' Records.Sims was immediately partnered with the then rising star producer Kurtis Mantronik (half of the Hip Hop duo Mantronix), and the resulting single 'All & All' immediately managed to capture the attention of the public, particularly in the United Kingdom (UK), where it reached No 16 in the UK charts. This was aided, undoubtedly, by the slightly more frenetic remix, which further developed, distorted and edited the latin / electro / freestyle referencing original mix. This was soon followed by the Mantronik produced 'Lifetime Love' and an accompanying album entitled 'Come in to My Life' (released in the UK in January 1988). In the UK the album sold particularly well, in an environment which was already sympathetic to the highly original production flourishes of Mantronik, but in the United States (US) success remained largely elusive. After touring in 1988 Sims released a second album on 'Sleeping Bag' in 1989, which failed to achieve the same degree of exposure as the first album. After this time she quietly faded out of view, leaving fans with a reasonably small, but affectionately remembered body of work. And this collection manages to present, over two cd discs, the very best of her work. Prior to this disc fans had to console themselves with a variety of vinyl 12" releases and slightly different versions of the 'Come In To My Life' album, depending on the chosen format (cassette, vinyl or cd). Here the key versions are brought together, so fans can hear the album or original single edit versions accompanied by the longer, remixed 12" versions. Notably, the Mega Mix originally available on the cassette edition is also included, and despite the years that have passed, it still sounds very fine indeed.So. Do you buy?Currently this collection is certainly the best value collection, presenting a lot of material for an incredibly reasonable sum. Die hard fans may well cite the fact that number of key remixes are missing, for example the alternative version of 'Lifetime Love' (on the original 12") and the Simon Harris remix of 'Come in to My Life' (which featured on a UK issued 12" on London Records), but there is a mid 1990s remix of the title track included, which whilst (subjectively) not to the standard of the original offers an interesting alternative. In presentational and qualitative terms the mastering is uniformly good, and there are informative liner notes included (written by Charles Waring). For 80s soul fans looking to replace an old or worn cassette or vinyl original this is an absolute 'must buy', and for fans of club or dance culture it offers an interesting insight in to the development and continuing fusion of musical influences from the crucial mid 1980s period. An outstanding release and highly reccommended. Simply buy!

Brought me back to my teenage days!
Good album that bought me back to my teenage days! I have rated a three star as there are only a couple of tunes I really enjoy. Disc to has the same tunes but remixed, not my cuppa tea! I would recommend this retailer to anyone as I received a fast service and delivery. My CD was a decent price and overall, I am pleased!
