Nice lock. Secure, and can be opened in the dark.
This lock is one of the better trigger locks out there. It has been approved for use, even in California, which is a high standard of security to meet.I personally want a combination type lock, not a key lock, and one that can be opened in the dark.It can be operated in the dark, and the user can set it up to securely lock the triggers of most types of firearms. You can also change the combination (within limits) to anything you want it to be, though this requires a little fiddling with small parts after partially dismantling the lock. But the instructions to do so are included, and it really isn't difficult.

Poor build quality
Ordered this lock, with hopes that it would replace the three digit Master combination trigger lock that I have for a gun that I'd like quick access to. Unfortunately, the lock was not well built and would unlock in a very inconsistent fashion. Oftentimes the buttons would not engage and I foresee that this would not be something that I would be able to manage in low light. I rarely post reviews, but I am surprised that many of the prior reviewers seemed to find this product of acceptable build quality. It will be returned today.

Not a sequential combination, but likely effective/secure
Looks secure and substantial in package, but I was surprised the combination is not sequential, meaning that you can have 3-4 numbers out of 9, and if those 3-4 are pushed (they should stay in) in any order, you can open the lock. It is actual keys and dummy keys, so the security relies on the combinations of 3 or 4 out of 9, which will take someone significant time if they don't get lucky, but then they also need to know which of the two side buttons to push as well. The real positive of this non-sequential combination is that it will be significantly easier and take much less training/practice to master in the dark . Back is mountable and once I got it fit well for the Security Six (it took a while but I am quite particular), it got mounted to my bedside table and in just a few minutes I mastered the release (you probably can't single-hand release and hold firearm properly, and my method involves releasing the lock, letting drop to the floor while I grip the revolver and swing it toward the BR door. The lock bangs on the floor, but I think I like giving a potential intruder a bit of warning that something is happening before they have a red dot on their forehead and are blinded by the taclight. I hope they will turn around so no engagement is necessary. By the time the lock hits the floor I have my grip established and am sweeping the weapon off the holder, so I am already ready incase they rush.

disappointed with the end result and will have to find ...
I was initially very excited to use this lock, it was one of the few trigger locks that had a flush back panel meaning it could be mounted to a magnet which was important to me. Unfortunately the lock doesn't fit my trigger guard very well (HK has trigger guards that are rather wide), and it doesn't work at all if there is any furniture mounted on the gun near the trigger guard. If having your flashlight mounted and ready on your weapon is important to you then you can forget about this lock. I lightly scratched my brand new handgun just trying to get this lock to fit, disappointed with the end result and will have to find another lock.

Quick, but maybe not safe
This is a good, solid, lock with a variety of easy combination options for quick release. I set mine up so that the code buttons are all next to each other so that in less than 2 seconds I can push down all the right buttons with one thumb, squeeze the release mechanism, and the lock falls off. The problem is, the metal bolt that goes through the trigger guard is too thick to place behind most triggers. This creates the possibility of the lock moving around inside the trigger guard so much that the weapon could still fire by tugging on the lock against the trigger, or if the trigger well is large enough, by simply scooting the lock toward the front of the gun until there's enough room to get your finger in. In smaller weapons, this is OK if you really crank the lock down hard, but in larger weapons like a shotgun, the lock has less gun surface area to secure to. Buy this for a medium or small handgun, or if you don't have kids to worry about.

Great lock for the money. Handy for wall mounting.
I bought to mount a Charter Arms AR-7 on the wall for quick access. The unit is well made and pretty flexible with some extra pins. In addition there are rubber "pins" on both sides of the lock that will need to be trimmed with a razor to ensure a snug fit on your gun. If you plan on mounting the lock on a wall, you will probably need a spacer plate like I used. Setting the combination was easy, just follow the instructions. The lock works quick, I can open it in the dark and it doesn't need batteries.

Set the pin, worked, closed the lock lucky ...
Set the pin, worked, closed the lock lucky without my gun in it. Now the pins just bounce back and won’t click.even if I hold the pins in manually, it won’t open. Waisted money.

Great product. I have 10 or 12 of them
Great product. I have 10 or 12 of them. The combination lock is easy to use and quick access to your weapon. I use them on my headboard, in my truck, hotel rooms when I travel, etc. There is no reason to ever have a a gun that is not in a gun safe unlocked around the house or in a vehicle. You set the comb, no excuses for an unsecured weapon!
