anyone tried walking/running barefoot on these??

Bare feet are not permitted. There are warning label on the treadmill and in the manual stating “no bare feet” sneakers required. Too many pinch points between the slats.

can I use this treadmill without using the display console? Do I have to install it?

Hi, The flexible slats absorb a lot of shock which should be good for you ankles knees hips and back. It’s the only treadmill I personally can run on and not have to go see the chiropractor. I have a CT400 in my gym for my members and for myself. If you’re walking I’d recommend it. There is a very detailed description next to the picture on Amazon and if you scroll down as well. My shoe sometimes gets caught while running, why?

Most likely because the slats are flexible. If you tighten the rear bolts, clockwise evenly on both sides through the access holes provided using the Allen wrench that will tighten the belt a little bit, which will help the slats not to flex quite as much. It could also be the type of shoes you were wearing, depending on the tread of the shoes. Less tread the better. When tightening the belt you must make sure you turn both bolts exactly the same on both sides so it does not become uneven and I would not do more than three whole revolutions per side at a time and test it out and no more than 10 full turns each side as you don't to put too much stress on the belt.
