Excellent film for critical reflection
This is a documentary that studies a topic that very few people know about or care to know about: children in the fields. Unlike children who work in the parents' farms the three children who appear in this film work in the fields as a result of necessity due to the migrant lifestyle they are forced to carry due to their poverty. The lives of these three children and their families are difficult to swallow for those who think that the U.S. can provide opportunities for all. The reality is that it rather makes reflect about how severe and chronic poverty in the U.S. is. I showed this film in my U.S. history class and my students found it informative and now they have knowledge about the difficulties of life in the fields. This movie will make you appreciate life and the hard work of these migrant manual laborers. Worth every penny!

Great Educational Video.
I am a teacher librarian at a middle school. I purchased this for our library to circulate for our teachers to use in the classroom. My teachers have enjoyed sharing this students giving them a greater perspective in the importance of obtaining an education. It really reaches out to the middle school ages.

Well made document about Migrants
This is a moving film about three young people attempting to help their family make money they desperately need and get an education. All three stories are full of the struggle that young migrant farm workers face. I haven't seen a film this well done about this topic ever. There is very little slant in either direction which is refreshing. My students enjoyed it as a extension to a book that we read by Francisco Jimenez called The Circuit.

This documentary is eye-opening. I wonder about the 3 kids that were portrayed in the film.I hope they make it out of the fields. I think every teacher should watch this (those who work with migrant children). It will help you understand why some kids don't make it. There needs to be something done about the laws that permit these kids to work. It's outrageous that they're getting paid $60 a day to work 12 hour hard labor shifts. It's inhumane. The food we eat is picked by immigrants and minorities.

Loved it
The plight of the alien and the stranger in this countrywhose children pick strawberries so mom and dad can survivewhile our govt. hands out $500,000,000,000to two banks in Switzerland. These people harvest our food;the banks in Switzerland are a criminal element who loot the US Treasuryby giving cover to tax evaders.God is a swift witness against those who turn away an alien (Mal. 3:5).The children of these aliens will route Mr. Trump out; route him out !We're in sad shape.

It is a good documentary that shows the other side of emigration
It is a good documentary that shows the other side of emigration. I did not show to my students yet so I don't know their reaction but when I show it to them I will write other review with it.Many people here in South Dakota don't know very much about emigration and this, I hope, will open the eyes of my students.

We have an Access and Diversity group and safe space at school where there are DVDs and books available for viewing and sharing. This was a great addition to the library. Thank you!

Guess I Gotta Be The First Hater
The subject matter of this film easily is a 5, however, how it translated through this particular film isn't as good as I thought it could have been.It doesn't seem like the camera is as embedded with these hard-luck travelers as in Which Way Home or Nine Star Hotel. Never got to really know the main subjects and, being that they were youngsters, would have been nice to follow them for 4 years to see their growth. The film H2 Worker also would be a film with a similar topic but with a bigger impact than this one. Maybe more data and less slow moments would have better.
