Work as good as the manual says it does. Would be nice if Beckett or a third party would sell spare cables. I am sure one will lost or damaged with time.

The description does not make it clear that this is the hand-held version. It shows both versions, snap-on and hand-held. I like the hand-held but would have preferred the snap-on (no cables needed as it plugs directly into the COM2 port when snapped-on). The hand-held version does have a light magnet on the back to attach to the furnace when using but the cable does get in the way sometimes. That cable plugs into either COM port (1 or 2). From what I can tell through Google searches, the snap-on version has been discontinued but it is still available from some suppliers, even Amazon, for about $99.
