I bought these to climb and top about 15-20 trees. They work great but the spurs sit low and apply a lot of pressure to your ankle making them uncomfortable after a while. The safety belt and lanyard is ok, but only being 1 3/4" wide cuts into your sides and it could be a little longer (it's only 7'). So short term use just up and down there great, but not so for extended use.

My grandson wanted them to get a job with a tree trimming company, but they were very poor quality and he did not get the job.

Very happy with these tree climbers. They are sturdy and do the trick 40-50 feet high!!

These are well made and VERY sharp and seemed like a good idea.I have leather hiking boots which I though would be good enough with this.BUT, they are _VERY_ painful on my ankles when trying to use them to climb.

This works as advertised. It is not something you can just put on and expect to be able to climb comfortably. You have to practice climbing with them; it will strenthen your ankles and legs, and will also toughen your ankles to handle the stress and pressure for using these climbers. Just like rollerblades, you cannot expect someone who has never rollerbladed before, to put on a brand new pair and be able to sail down the road effortlessly and tirelessly like a pro does.
