"Overview" of the Basics
The title might be more accurate as "A Good Overview of Some of the Basics of SketchUp Drawing for Builders". There is A LOT more information that needs to be provided in order to use the program effectively or to it's ability. A good start, but I was expecting more. Upon completion of the DVD & exercises, you might be able to draw a very simple one-room cabin, but there is much more information/tutorials necessary in order to fully document, with dimensions, a minimal set of drawings that would be required/necessary for a builder, his subcontractors, or submittal to a governing agency for a Building Permit. Probably expecting too much from this DVD, but expected more than was delivered. Very Basic Overview of a few of the primary drawing commands and element grouping strategies. I like/appreciate the approach/teaching style....just wanted/needed more!

Dale is a good instructor but the video is dated
Dale is a good instructor but the video is dated. It was created in 2013, several Sketchup generations ago. There's no excuse to not update the video training to match the current version of Sketchup. Many of the techniques shown don't work because Sketchup has long since updated their drawing program. Too bad the author is not interested in staying current. But then, why should he as long as folks settle for his outdated version?Fine Homebuilding is advertising a "new" video but it appears to be the same package with the word "new" displayed. Likewise, they state it's not available yet, suggesting it's an updated version but it's more likely a reprint of the stale old copy with the word "New" dangled before us to mislead. Don't buy until the publishing date is known.

Doesn't follow the 2018 version of SketchUp.
This educational video is worthless. As a start, you can't download the free version of SketchUp and get the page to open identically to the video. Sketchup as demonstrated seems to be a very good tool but come on, if you can't get the software version used in the tutorial why bother.Frankly this is a rip off.
